The truly great song thread

Serious post now. I'm fairly new to this band, but the first time I heard this song, I knew it was special. For me it seems like the "truly great" songs generally take a long time to get to that level after lots of listens under all different sorts of circumstances, but every now and then, every once in a blue moon.... it just happens right away. That is the case with this one. This song burrowed it's way right into the core of my musical heart the very first time I heard it. That voice... those guitars... the not so distant memories already permanently attached to this song.... yeah :)

Johnette is truly the greatest female rock vocalist alive, saw them at the Showbox not too long ago and she just blew my mind

Some truly great songs in here!

I'd like to add a Porcupine Tree song, while not my absolute favorite, is one that's been going through my mind a lot lately as something I can relate to almost at all times.

I just try to forget that it's written from the perspective of a serial killer. ;)

Since I saw a few instrumentals up here...

This is one of my favorite instrumental tracks and a truly good song. Discovered Lanterna on the Dark Dose blog when it was being updated.
