the ultimate mindfuck movie

jacobs ladder is amazing , i still wonder how tim robins played in that film ...the end is lunatic ...have u noticed that all this films kinda have the same ending of catharsis and purification or smthing but not in a "pleasant" way ...

If ya'll want some more Total Mind-fuck Films, ya'll should try Terry Gilliam's (the animator for Monty Python's Flying Circus and all their movies) own films that he directed. Like Brazil, a beauty mind-fuck of a film that really twists you up in side, & Twelve Monkeys, a strange & fucked up film that makes little to no sense on the first few views and still doesn't make sense even after 5 viewings. Not as a good mindfuck as Brazil but still pretty fucking out there.
Well, that's 'bout all for now, The Pimp will return with more mindfuck films shortly.
Peace

well, actually, fans of Pi need to go rent the 1989 Japanese experimental film Tetsuo: The Iron Man. Aronofsky totally jacked his style for Pi from that film. The story, roughly, is a guy who gets hit by a car and slowly finds himself turning into a machine. It's more art project than movie, but the styale parallels with Pi are in your face.

The director basically did a bid budget remake of tetsuo in the form of Tetsuo II: Body hammer, also quite cool though harder to find than the first one.

^Ohhhhhh yeeeahhhh Tetsuo was freaking weird! You got6ta see it more than once to catch everything. I do have Tetsuo 2 on video and it's great as well.:D

how did i ever forget 'memento'?

Momento wasn't that much of a amind-fuck movie, although it was well constructed.
If ya'll want the best latest mind-fuck film, go out and get Donnie Darko. It is one of the great films I's have ever seen, but so many people just can't wrap their heads around it.
It is such a well crafted film that it makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever, unless you are reading every second of it. And talking about the film will just spoil it for people who haven't seen it.
Go out and get, if only for a six-foot tall demonic rabbit named Frank.

Anyone ever see jonny numonic? The cheaper version of the matrix?

Johny Neumonic came well before The Matrix was even conceived as a film (probably was one of the main ideas for that also terrible film) and it sucked more than a Bangkok brothel!
It based upon a beyond excellent William Gibson short story but it, as all Hollywood films do, butchered the best characters out of it (The Fin, Molly Millions/Razor Girl, the Yakuza ninja, etc) and replaced them with sucky characters that make no sense and have no real place in the film (i.e: Henry Rollins as "The Preacher", The Low-Techs, the wimpy Yakuza crime boss, etc).
As The Pimp always says, if they make a movie out of a book, read the book because the movie can't compare (with the exceptions of Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep/Blade Runner & Heart Of Darkness/Apocolypse Now, because the novels and films are meant to be completely different.

i thought vanilla sky was pretty strange. also event horizon

Event Horizon was just plain aweful. It still stands as one of the worst films I's have ever seen, with the possible exception of the movie The Sphere and ever single romantic comedy ever made.

The Sphere? BAD? what? that film is fantastic. Especialy when the accusations start going. No so much a mindfuck as just a fun film. I didn't really get the obbsession with blade runner either.Good but not as good as some would have you belive.
The original Japanese version of "Ring" was quite a headfuck. Better than the new version anyway.

dude Sphere was such a piece of shit, have you read the book? its waaay better.

And I must be one of the few that thinks Event Horizon is a great movie, sure it was just one of those "be scary by the use of bright lights and loud noises" type things, but I thought it was done very well, and freaks me out.. I like movies that do that.

Dustin hoffman is in sphere. Therefore it is good. Not Rainman good, but good. And event horizon was pisspoor.
Also have you noticed how many Philip dick books are being made into films now? Vanilla sky,Blade runner, minority report....I'm sure there's more. Just was till the do his Exgeisis(Think that's how its spelt)
