Dukes was a big part of the power, you can still hear it in his voice today. I'm just not a huge fan of what he's doing now.

Who'd have thought we'd thank covid for anything
Lockdown's are getting ridiculous, the current one, number nine for us, is for 7 days was announced at 8pm Tuesday night and went into effect at midnight that night. People are getting so pissed off that they just aren't bothering to follow the rules any more. The kids have missed something like 250 days of school learning since this began and businesses are shutting down everywhere but the government still throws lockdowns at us because they fucked up the vax roll out.

They are threatening us with that. Because the country has to open up and the closer we all get to fully vaxed the more people will want to see freedoms, the modelling and studies predicting what will happen when we open at different percentages of vaccination are coming thick and fast. Of course they are only predictions, but we are having some people say if we open up too early we'll surpass death rates of many of the already high places around the world. One model shows us infecting 20,000 people daily and hospitalising 6000, which is horrific to think about in a city of 8 million, but it's based on something silly like less than 50% single vaxed, we passed that figure 2 months ago, but of course the media omit that bit when they print the story to shock.

This country is pretty much run by Murdoch Press. I don't think it's as bad as some people say, (i.e. that he controls the government), but I also think he doesn't need control, he just needs his newspapers and TV stations. He, well his media reach, has influenced every one of our elections for the last 15 years, some people say Murdoch only fights for one side, but he's had Prime Ministers on both sides voted in and voted out simply because of the way his media reports things. We don't need an unbiased media reporting real facts, we have Murdoch printing what he wants us to hear!
