The what's going on in Thrash thread

It's got me stuffed why metal bands want to be in the HOF.
But I can see Anthrax being the type of guys who would actually be seeking it as some kind of validation to put them on the same level as other bands.

Me either. Joey seems to think it's basically a joke but doesn't want to come right out and say it. I can see Scott And Charlie staying awake at night dreaming about it though! I wonder who aside from the obvious would get in? Lilker probably would. But Walls? Paul Crook? Jon? And would Anthrax fight to get someone on the list who had been omitted?

Actually that's an interesting point. There has been more than a few bands fight over who gets into the HOF when they are nominated and I can't see Anthrax being any different.
Given the way Scott and Charlie protect whoever is in the current line up I reckon they'd tell Dan (both Dan's) to fuck off. They don't have the best relationship with Spitz and I can't see them accepting Lilker as much more than a founding member. They could probably fuel that argument by saying the HOF is based on sales and popularity from albums after Lilker was in the band. It would be harder to omit other members but lets face it Megadeth were able to whittle it down to only the 'important' players.

Sadly I think I'm with you lol. It's too bad. I doubt Scott and Charlie would say anything at all. Hell they may try and keep someone out..

Yup Megadeth whittled it down alright. Dave,Dave,Dave and management!

I don't know that Anthrax actually deserve to be in the HOF. I'm sure there is other bands who will and probably should get in before them.

Was it the HOF where they played the wrong music for Megadeth?

I don't know either. Yes there are a ton of bands that should get in before them. (if I cared) But douchyness aside. They are a good band with a mostly good catalog. They've influenced a few people and have been around a long time. I suppose they deserve it as much or more than a bunch of people that are in there.
But. Fuck the Hall.

Yeah I believe it was. Played some Metallica lol. At the time I cried fowl. Now it's very funny. Thanks for reminding me! :p

I thought HOF was about sales and longevity (and pleasing old white men in suits) rather than who they might have influenced? I agree they deserve it as much, or more than some of the bands in there, but ever year those fuckwits in suits prove just how out of touch they are. I say give it to Anthrax, fuck it just give it too all the bands who cry about not getting it.

I can only imagine what was going through Dave's mind when it happened :)

Oh it is! But they one of their bullshit criteria is influence.

Haha! Yeah. Just get everyone in! Except Mustaine...ooh ooh! Induct everyone in Megadeth except Dave. Watch his head unroll!

He said he didn't notice at the time. But I bet it eats him up now.

I have never taken enough notice of the HOF to know any of the criteria other it has to be 25 years or more since the bands first release.

Induct Jnr for his contribution to metal!!

Oh yeah and in related news Dwellers is out today on Amazon Prime according to the FB post I saw earlier.

I think some bands just assume they should be there because they've been around 25 years.

Dwellers is out now!
The 15x award winning no budget found footage indie horror flick DWELLERS is officially out as of today and can be viewed digitally on Amazon Prime Video with the Blu-Ray and DVD available exclusively through dwellersfilm.com.
Along with being produced by Grammy Award winning bassist David Ellefson, the film was written by, directed by, and starring The Lucid guitarist Drew Fortier who, while portraying himself in this POV adventure, takes you on a sardonic journey into the depths of the sewer systems of Ohio while attempting to adhere to an impossible deadline to complete a documentary on the local homeless population.
Co-starring James L. Edwards (Her Name Was Christa), Douglas Esper (The Nutshell), Omar Baig, Tharasa DiMeo, and Grammy award winning bassist David Ellefson, Dwellers has been heralded as an extremely gritty revelation to the found footage genre filled with laughs, awkward moments, and genuine creepiness.

I found it on amazon but it's not Prime. I feel like $10 bucks is too much. :).

Yeah I don't really want to pay to see it in case it's shit.
I must admit I did wonder what those award were for, but I think some of them you just get for turning up with something.

Lol. Ah. The movie equivalent of participation trophies ? Yeah. I mean technically it is on Amazon Prime. but it doesn't say Prime on it. So you pay for it. I might have done it for $1.99 :).

I believe it's awards like "best first movie" and "best found footage", those sort of awards that no one really knew existed but they were the only one in the category anyway.
Given they are boasting about how cheaply it was made $1.99 sounds reasonable :)
