The what's going on in Thrash thread

Speaking of birthday's, and quoting myself at the same time, it was Mrs. Hoglan's birthday last week. Gene called her, his badass breathtaking queen and was full of praise for her. He didn't mention her age though, seems he lives by the thought of 'happy wife happy life'.

No mention of the new album he's been creating with her or the new Dark Angel, but I guess we can forgive him for that since it was a birthday message for Laura and not an update for us.
Well happy late birtday!
I was just wondering if there was any news on that. I wonder who they'll get to produce the album when it's done?

Lol, yeah and people are already not accepting it.

Their name is so small on that poster though. I mean by how long they've been around alone should have gotten them more space. I wonder if their management or label is not doing a great job.
Yeah I can see Phil headlining because of Motorhead. But Accept? Nah.

I've never been a huge fan of Accept but I gave that last album a spin once and it's generic metal, nothing inspiring. With Flotz label being European I'm sure they could have done better than putting them on with Accept. Then again maybe it's a management problem. I could understand them touring with Phil, after all Obituary are touring with BLS in the states, but I would have thought they deserved better than Accept as an opener. Flotz have also done their own tours in Europe so it does make one wonder why they are even playing third on any bill.

No I never got into them. The one song I heard growing up I always thought was AC/DC (forgive me I was very young) until I saw the video. I think it was Balls to the Wall. I don't think I've really heard anything with the other singer except the song he did on Overkill's album.
Maybe they just wanted to get out there and play so bad they just took it. But man that's really bad management somewhere to not have their name bigger.
Yeah you're right though. I wonder why they didn't go out themselves.

How cool would it be if they got Sneap to do it. Gene has the connection already!!
Oh that's true. He's probably got an in with him. I wonder if Sneap would have the time. This JP tour may go on for a while. but if they had it ready now he could do it.
Since JP could pretty much get anyone to take KK's place you think anyone feels bad that they can't get the producer they want?!

Balls To The Wall was about the only song of theirs I knew for years. I had a few Metal Compilations back then and Balls seems to be on everything! Maybe Accept are Rockstars and wouldn't allow the names of support acts to be any bigger. Stranger requests have happened from rockstars.

I reckon the world travel situation is a big part of things. So much shit to organise, so many rules to follow in different places. Let the 'main' band do all the grunt work and just follow along might be a good way to handle things for a while

Sneap could step aside and give KK his shot at glory :)
Rob's talking up Ritchie's recovery but I'm not sure he's going to be fit for stage work any time soon. But then again the dude nearly died on stage and kept playing so maybe the show will be back on next week :)
Even so I'm not sure it's enough time for Sneap to get too much studio stuff done, still Gene's an old hand at recording, he could do a lot of it himself.

Oh yeah I couldn't escape that song for so long. I always thought the singer looked like a Pigman. Not so much as he's aged though.
That would be amazing if that band actually had that kind of pull. but yeah stranger things have happened.

True enough, it's gonna be rough out there for a while. It may even get worse again.

Dude! Fuckin Rob lol. Richie needs to recover. But soon he'll be touring and writing and blah blah. We can't wait to get back out there! Man he's got metal parts! No pressure or anything!

Yeah Gene could do it. I wonder who they'd get otherwise? who is good? I'm always surprised more people don't use Terry Date. Maybe he's really pricey.

I'm still struggling to think of any other song of theirs.
Bands get weird deals when they sign for tours. I think it was Destruction who once demanded bill posters all had their name at the top and 'with special guests' before the support act to make it look like they were inviting someone special on the tour and not just another band.

Yeah travel is opening up, even here soon, but I don't think it's going to be like it was pre-covid for a long time.

I don't think Rob was being rude but his comments almost sounded like he was about to push Ritchie out on stage in a wheel chair and the IV still connected to his arm.

I reckon if they want to keep it old school DA, and they seem to given the gigs they played in Oz in 2019, they should stick with Terry again. Time Does Not Heal was easily better produced than Leave Scars.

It's really weird when people pull a power play. Especially in Metal. And so unnecessary

In some ways I hope it never does. Things like Indians being able to see the mountain range just miles away after... 30 years? Is pretty cool and definitely for the better of all.

Nah I didn't either. But he needs to think about what he says sometimes. Even the perceived pressure of a lighthearted statement about it or a joke is something I wouldn't think Richie needs anytime soon lol.
