The what's going on in Thrash thread

Fark! $90 would be about $120, which is high for a hoodie. Locally we get hoodies for about $60, although nothing I've seen is new, it's all 18-24 months old. The dearest I've seen is $199 for a Testament hoodie, which was authorised but not from Testament.
Yeah I don't know what the hell there are thinking. Man $120? Lol I don't see anyone ordering it from overseas.
Oh I remember that Testament Hoodie. The one with the purple right? It was nice. But still way overpriced.

Maybe Anthrax really are trying to cash in on not touring to see if they ever have to write music again.

Yeah that was the one, it was inlaid with logos and all sorts of stuff, it was bloody expensive but it also wasn't generic.

That's weird, I was looking at Metal Blade's bandcamp page for Sacred Reich a few minutes ago and they list all albums but Independent. Apart from the cool art for Surf Nicaragua, the Independent album was the album that really got me into the band. It was also the first SR albums that was easily available in Aus. At first I thought it might have been because it was 'independent' but it wasn't, it was on Metal Blade like the rest. So it appears there are quite a number of bands missing off the list and those listed may not have full discographies. But you can still buy digital versions of the music, or have physical copies sent out of what is there.

Posted on MA in a discussion about what Kerry King is doing/will do and the suggestion that Alex could be in his new band.

I don't think Skolnick really wants to do metal at this point, judging by how uninspired his work is with Testament lately (it's 100% a "what pays my bills" gig these days). Chuck and Eric aren't getting him cheap and King would have to offer him a lot more than what he's making there.

That's another band I need to beef up in my collection.

Sounds like a pretty typical take on things. I personally haven't heard that rumor. He should get Loomis..

Well most of it is there on bandcamp to listen to and decide what you want to buy. I don't know how their prices compare to buying direct from the label or from a shop but it's definitely worth checking out their back catalogue. I think Independent is their catchiest record, it's still thrashy but it flows well, but their older stuff like Surf Nicaragua and Ignorance have good songs on them.

Oh they are just making up their own rumours now, nothing they say is based on anything solid.
I can't see Alex wanting to play with Kerry, not because he's not into metal but because it's not his style. Kerry's said whatever he does will sound like Slayer, because he was slayer for 35 years, but I don't see Alex sounding like Slayer.

Lol. Well that figures. I should have know.

No I don't see that either. A one off song where Alex just tears it up would cool though. I think anyway.

The funny thing is the majority of them seem to want to hate on Kerry, so any band he does create, whether it's to their liking or not, will just be shit on for having Kerry in it. It's quiet funny, the other KK, the one that bitches and moans 99% of the time, cops less shit on that forum than King does.

Not sure who will pay Slayer money to see Kerry King and a bunch of randoms play live. You think King is that desperate for money or does he miss life on the road?

Plenty of people think he's just a money grabbing fool, but he's said from the start that he wasn't retiring, Slayer was. His wife did make comments on social media which made it look like she was locking him in a cellar so no one could see him, and I think that set some people off too. Even the suggested line up of Holt, Bostaph, Anselmo, King, I doubt would see him touring the world, and especially wont see him playing big venues. So I tend to think it's not about money but about playing because he's not ready to just retire and do nothing.

Both. Plus he believes his own press. This KK Slayer tour will humble him greatly. I give him credit for not bad-mouthing publicly Tom though, as Tom is clearly done with Slayer in every way and this frustrates KK to no end.

My prediction is that Bostaph will definitely be on drums, and maybe Holt on second guitar. Vocals is anyone's guess but I seriously doubt it will be Anselmo because he's just not responsible/dependable enough for a real touring band like KK is used to. Bass will be an unknown/near unknown who they can pay peanuts. There is zero chance Alex Skolnick will be the second guitarist in KK's new band.
