The what's going on in Thrash thread

The schools opened with a scattered starts 2 weeks ago, idea was that only a few year levels go at a time, along with kids whose parents had to be at work. All classes went back on Friday and now we find out a positive case was at both schools for the entire week. Both kid's schools have now been shut twice for cleaning in a week because a positive case has been on site

Things where working well here until several fuckwits decided to have a party for a football match. 18 people from 3 familes were infected in one night, from there we've basically gone to one case after another. This current outbreak here is worse in four weeks than the entire 18 months before it. But according to the government we have to learn to live with it and we are open for business.
Ugh. It's always the fukwits isn't it?! They should be sent to Tasmania! That's bad right?

It had to happen? What a stupid fucking thing to say. I don't know if Frankie is toeing some imaginary line drawn by Scott and Charlie or if he actually believes that, but it's stupid. 20 years on he's justifying sacking their singer with little more than 'it needed to happen', he'd have been better off just remaining silent and saying nothing.
Yeah I feel the same way. Probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard him say. Poor fucking Joey man. Guy has saved them twice and still gets this bullshit.

Honestly I have neglected almost my entire physical collection as digital is just more convenient these days
Yeah I understand. I'm about 50/50. It has to be physical though if I really want it to sound good. Are you still buying physical? Or more digital?
I still only buy physical but then it's in my itunes.

I forgot about the first part of this post.
Faith Or Fear were okay, quiet thrashy, vocals not too bad, kind of looked like most other thrash bands of the time. I don't know that I ever heard a full album of theirs but their biggest claim to fame is probably that Merritt Gant was in the band briefly. They have two full length albums out but going by the dates of Ultimate Revenge 2 the set they recorded was pre Gant and about the time of their debut. Their second album didn't come out until 2012
Wow pretty far apart huh? I liked Merritt in Overkill.

I might move to Tassie, they've actually done well keeping the virus out. The two things that would annoy me about moving there is that I have family there, and the big issues is that anyone moving there has to grow a second head.

I wonder if they do anything (other than play on stage) as a band? They seem so divided and we know Scott and Charlie pull the strings but what do the other three do? I thought maybe Frankie was a bit of a fence sitter, but from that article it appears he's on team ChuckSnot, which probably does keep him in a job. But their almost never named guitarist and Joey definitely seem like they are always left in the cold.

I still buy most albums on CD and then rip them (or if I'm lazy download them). Bandcamp would be where I get most digital stuff.

Yeah they broke up twice apparently. Not sure if that's a sign of bad music or bad players but the band still has some original players. Might be worth checking them out on YT to see what they are like, it's only two albums, it wont take long to preview them. The three songs on the Ultimate Revenge aren't too bad but they also aren't ground breaking, not even considering they are 33 years old.

Yeah I get the impression they are not at all a unified front. I think Jon has another band now too with the other Shadows Fall guy. The one in Act Of Defiance.

I get the impression that if he quit for another band Anthrax would just use it as another excuse not to release an album.

It's funny when someone on Blabber will say something like, cd's?! what year is it?! Meanwhile physical sales still far out number digital.

I haven't checked the figures for a while. I'm not overly surprised physical still sells well, I'm surprised vinyl and cassette are coming back like they are, but if the industry has figured out that's what people want then good on them.

I know! The cassette blows my mind. Even as a novelty. whenever I read anything about sales it seems like it's always around 80% physical.

I don't know if there has been a technology change with cassettes but they used to be so annoying. Unable to skip songs, didn't always get lyrics and good pics, and they stretched if played too much or left in the heat. Fancy bringing that shit back.

These days I will buy the physical copy if it’s something really worth it!
