The what's going on in Thrash thread

https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/l...booklet-and-tribute-shirt-coming-in-december/

Good news! Pity there is so few but it's good to see something is being done.

I like the shirt but I can't get a postage cost on anything.

So no new album but a release of something else from the past. Geez what the fuck is MegaDave doing? This concert was okay, but nothing overly special and now he's re-releasing it with songs from the original missing?

MegaDave knows the Megafans will buy anything he releases with the Megadeth name on it. Looks like a cash grab to me. You think the Drovers or MacDonough will see any royalties from this?

Hired musicians are just paid to play. They don't get royalties like songwriters or sometimes producers do. They also don't have to pay anything to promoters if the tour loses money.

It might be another industry accolade, probably worth little more than a RNR HOF award but Decibel Magazine has just inducted Doomsday For The Deceiver into it's Hall Of Fame. Apparently there is a seven page article in the December issue with the band members who made the album. Doesn't appear to be a way to view the article on line but a 7 page write up for Flotz can't be a bad thing.
Awesome!

https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/f...o-fill-in-for-dave-linsk-at-overkill-concert/

Interesting, I read this on FB and figured Phil was a special guest for some reason. Article doesn't really explain why Linsk isn't playing but I guess history explains why they invited Phil and not Bobby when they thought about Vio-lence.
Funny. My first reaction was. That this could be awkward. But I didn't think about the fact that Phil was already in a band with Blitz. Good choice though. I actually hope Linsk retires or something. He was such a breath of fresh air when he joined. But his tone has gotten really old for me and he never changes it. I also didn't think the solos on the last couple albums weren't that great.

Hahaha! This is the dvd I gave away. It was a good quality and good setlist but Drover ruined all the other guys solos. He's just flooding the market with bullshit merch now.

I suppose that's true of a lot of bands these days, but MegaDave is really milking it while holding off the release of that amazing new album.
While I do agree it's a cash grab there must be heaps of other recorded shows that Dave could have chosen which would have grabbed just as much cash but not had the negative fan response of "that's the same DVD I have but it has less songs."

Drover and MacD might not even have royalties from the songs given they weren't all new songs, so that could be another reason why this concert had to be the one to release.

So what you're saying is that MegaDave is coping SelloutScott?

Yeah I hear you. It's been so long for me though that if I see it I'll probably pick it up.

I'd have to go looking for it here. I know some places sell it but no idea if they sell it every month. I could probably get a $7 magazine posted to me for $100 and have it by 2024. :)

I was looking at the PuckHucky range this morning. $180 for a Motorhead jersey and $103 to post it to me. What a bargain!!

I'm not sure even Anthrax has stooped this low? :p
Lol. S.O.S.

Anthrax did release that Fire Fighters EP last year (or maybe the year before) with no new songs on it. Anthrax have been selling $180 miniature turntables that didn't work. I'm thinking they've come come close. :)

I'm certainly not calling SOS for help if I get in trouble, he'd ask for my credit card to bill me before he brings help!

I think maybe they have them at the grocery stores here. But I can't be positive.

Yeah that puck hockey stuff is pricey even without postage.

I don't think we have any music mags at the grocery store any more, not even top 40 type trash. We have 4x4, camping, beauty (by the hundreds), crossword books and all those daily and weekly trash mags of readers stories but I think for actual music mags we have to go to a newsagent.

They have some $80(ish) hoodies and proudly state with pop ups that they will ship to Australia but at $100 they can stick it where the sun don't shine.

Sorry it wasn't fire fighters EP it was First Responders. 7" double A side album with songs from 1987. It's been removed from their shop now so it must have sold in big numbers.

I believe I remember reading comments somewhere that because they were miniature they were collectables not actual working models.
