The what's going on in Thrash thread

I didn't listen to the interview but I read the article. Seems like fans are more angry about what happened than Gary and Rick are
I didn't yet either. But he says all the things Gary didn't say. Like get out. But then it goes to he woke up and wasn't in Exodus. So confusing. Hopefully the video makes more sense.

I didn't bother with the comments.

It appears to me that Rick while he might have been upset at the time he realised that everyone else around him was getting clean and he was sinking further into the hole. With an admission like that, and not knowing exactly what was said by any party, I reckon that he realises why things happened like they did. It could also be why he's not acting pissed off with them now

Yeah pretty plain so far.

The thing that would annoy me, and I don't really have solid proof of this, is that Nick was always into metal. He could play jazz, he learned all sorts of different music, but from the mid-late 80's he was all about metal. Even into the 00's he was playing metal. What Jnr is playing now is not metal (no matter how much Dave Wright thinks it's A league), If Jnr writes what he's currently playing to go with Nick's drums it wont be what Nick was doing.

So I just listened to the Rick interview. Dukes started out a little slow. But it's actually a really good interview.

I haven't had a chance to do anything today. I have a list of jobs a mile long at the moment and then the wife tells me she's got the day off and it's time to do Christmas shopping!! Until after school time I'd spent a total of 10 mins at home :(

Yes. Absolutely. And I've kind of alluded to that on their Youtube. That shit he's done on his own isn't gonna cut it.

Listening to some of the clips of just Nick playing his drumming is better than the shit Jnr is making with Lucid. I don't think it should sound like Megadeth either but Nick had a sound, he knew what it was and in his book where he talks about his drumming videos he talks about some of the moods he was in. They need to remain as true as possible to that rather than invent music they think the drumming suits.

Wei

Weird that Joey was the hold out. This part made me chuckle: you can't just not do anything — you have to know: Uh yeah. 5 years later no album in site.

I thought that Joey part was interesting too. Maybe he really was pissed at the way they treated him, and really who could blame him.

Even before this pandemic Anthrax were the kings of 'not do anything', sure they never had a break this long, but geez they've had some good breaks between albums. Although those breaks possibly seem longer because we can measure them in a time line of when they did good things :)

No not Megadeth, but thrash. I told them they need to bring in people like Chuck Billy, Eric Peterson and AK. If they get some hipster metal singer it's done.
