When I first read that I was shocked, but as I read Gene's message I realised that it was really only a matter of time. Maybe covid brought a few things forward for him but he has been speaking for a long time about his other projects. I know most people think Dark Angel when they think about Gene going off to do something of his own but he's got so many other bands and projects that it's hard to see him fitting them in. I'm just glad they parted amicably and not because of some disagreement.

Be interesting to see how busy Lombardo is with Misfits and Suicidal, he might not have time.

It depends what you call lucrative. He's been a session drummer since he first showed Lombardo how to use a double kick on Show No Mercy, his early credits show him with more than a dozen different bands. He's played with heaps of different musicians from Devin Townsend to Brandon Small, both of which I think have projects they want him for this year. He has Dark Angel which if they do come back will demand a fair bit of time. But he has also said his main project for 2022 will be the thing he is working on with his wife which if her history is anything to go by will be some fairly extreme thrash/death. So lucrative may not be the pay day it might be the freedom to do more of what he really wants without going broke.

Yeah I've been thinking about it all day came to pretty much the same conclusion. I knew Gene wasn't going to be there forever. But it still really sucks. Gene actually sounds a little too happy about it lol. How does this even happen though? They just run completely different ships? Each one booking things without having band meetings?
I'm just really afraid their gonna get the Trivium guy.

The last interview I read with Gene he was talking about so many things that it would hard for them not to know he had a full schedule. But I guess the other thing could be is that both side ignored the elephant in the room until it was unavoidable. Eric and Chuck wouldn't be on board with the Trivium guy though would they?

I got caught in that rabbit hole and read all the comments. Holy shit that section takes a quick turn. That Ellsworth fuckwit and his 'hire a black person' mantra. Dave and what he thinks are witty put downs to the people who hate him. And now some fuckwit who almost named himself after someone famous, just like other alter egos of Dave comes out with that shit about how bad Testament are.

I do wonder why she's in the news so much, I get that they were still friends and all but they were divorced.
Here's my theory. A few weeks ago DW as talking about being banned/blocked on Valerie and Wolfgang's FB pages because he gave them the 'truth'. Fast forward a few weeks and articles about her pop up again, but DW is not commenting, as yet. Either Blabber are wanting him to comment because they know he creates traffic, or there is a connection between him and Blabber and he's waiting for others to throw shit he can play with it.

I think Paul's also the only one named because Gary has a job and Paul doesn't, and I don't think any one really expects Phil A to be singer.
I do wonder if there is any up and comers in the bay area rather than steal someone else. Blood in a new bloke and see how they go.
