The what's going on in Thrash thread

If he really has left for session work I have to wonder why now? I'm sure Gene could have been doing session work at any time for decades if he'd wanted too. but whatever. The big question for me is who they'll get!
I know we just went through this. :D. But I really feel like if they are going to replace The Atomic Clock it needs to be another legend.

I think he's been doing session work for ages, but if he did sign a contract with Capitol then I imagine that contract would mean they want him for more hours than touring allows. But he does also have a lot of other projects on the go so again touring might not be easy, especially with his other jobs being so close to home.

All I'm seeing people suggest is names like Lombardo or Bosptah etc. Other than Kerry King's pretend band I don't know what Bosptah is doing but pretty much every drummer I've heard mentioned is already working full time.

I wonder what Steve "The Horse" Jacobs and Jon Allen are doing these days.

Metal Injection named the usual suspects plus Martin Axenrot ex Opeth and Bloodbath who they reckon can cope with the speed and power. But their out of left field suggestion is Travis Barker from Blink 182.

Gene's always had the long thumb and little finger nail. I'd have reckoned they'd get in the way and break but some how he seems to manage to keep them.
