The what's going on in Thrash thread

I do wonder why she's in the news so much, I get that they were still friends and all but they were divorced.
Here's my theory. A few weeks ago DW as talking about being banned/blocked on Valerie and Wolfgang's FB pages because he gave them the 'truth'. Fast forward a few weeks and articles about her pop up again, but DW is not commenting, as yet. Either Blabber are wanting him to comment because they know he creates traffic, or there is a connection between him and Blabber and he's waiting for others to throw shit he can play with it.
Both of those theory's sound plausible. I clicked on something and he 's basically having a conversation with himself and two or three of his other accounts.

No I mean Testament Alex playing with Trivium Alex. I didn't realise it was Eric playing with him.
I think Paul's also the only one named because Gary has a job and Paul doesn't, and I don't think any one really expects Phil A to be singer.

I do wonder if there is any up and comers in the bay area rather than steal someone else. Blood in a new bloke and see how they go.
I wouldn't mind new blood. But I actually really do want an old school person. I just think there's people out there that have deserved that slot for a while. Keep that super group thing going.

Wasn’t there a guy by the name of Mark Hernandez that filled in once in a while?!

I love that Forbidden debut!!

Mark (also from Heathen, Vio-lence and Defiance) was only on Forbidden's last album in 2010, but it's a tangled web that is woven Bostpath was with them from 86 (the debut) to 92. Then in 2008 when the original band reformed initially with the original "Forbidden Evil" line up Bostpath could not make it due to commitment with Testament. In steps Gene Hoglan who played those shows before Mark Hernandez joined as a permanent member and recorded one album. Mark them left in 2011 and Gene rejoined

He has got a few detractors now, and for everyone that does say something he has a comeback so Blabber must be loving the idea of constant traffic talking shit on their website. Ex-Mrs VH has become the new Nugent :)

Super group? But Alex is there :p
I don't know about the bay area specifically but with the number of bands in the world pulling old school thrash influences these days they should be able to find new blood with old school skills.
What's Lars' son doing? :)

I don't remember. But I wouldn't be surprised! I think they should try Nick Barker again. But I'm sure those Visa problems would be even worse now.

He also played a gig with Nuclear Assault and Evile!
However in this country Nick Barker is a singer who has been around for about 40 years. In the 80's he was a long haired hard rocking guitarist with his own band, he also helped my cousin earn his Australia Day Award for music (achievement for efforts in the Aus Music industry) back in 93. He wasn't metal but he was relatively talented and for that reason Nicholas Barker the drummer is not very well known here.

I wonder how it is that Steve is able to manage all his projects and Testament. But Gene wasn't? Steve has a lot going on as well.

Don't you start the conspiracy theories or you can go straight to Blabber :p
Word is that he signed a deal with Capitol (I think it was) as a studio drummer and not only does it pay very well to do that , as in better than a touring drummer, but with a contract he can basically call it a full time job. How much truth there is to that I don't know.

I thought when Mike pulled the kid out of the audience and told him to go and drum the next song with Lombardo was a good gesture. But when he told the security guards to lift the big guy in the wheel chair from the crowd onto the stage and then tried to push him around while still singing I laughed. Sometimes Mike loses the words in the songs, probably because he's jumping around so much, but you can forgive him when he treats his crowd like he does.

Oh damn. Before you know he'll be cutting drums for Toby Keith and Stevie Wonder!

You have to wonder just how much a session drummer does make. Although lets face it there would be more perks to such a job than just the pay. Always working close to home, able to do his own thing, or with other bands and what I guess would be a lot more freedom. Of course that is speculation but I imagine it's inviting if true.

He's a legend. I know he's a bit of a showman, but he's always talking people up, encouraging them. I reckon if you went to an ST show in a bad mood and listened to even a fraction of Mike says you couldn't come home unhappy.

If he really has left for session work I have to wonder why now? I'm sure Gene could have been doing session work at any time for decades if he'd wanted too. but whatever. The big question for me is who they'll get!
I know we just went through this. :D. But I really feel like if they are going to replace The Atomic Clock it needs to be another legend.
