The what's going on in Thrash thread

There was some better moments on the Vault boxset than there was on Damned If you Do, but I do tend to agree. I wont buy another MC album without hearing it first and as to how keen I am to hear it will depend on who's doing the producing. I will no doubt give anything they create a listen because you just never know when you might find a gem in the rough. But I certainly do have a different approach to MC these days.

I'm glad I didn't write off Annihilator completely, although I admit to giving it a fair shot over the last few years. I think their latest album while far from perfect shows Jeff can still write good songs he just needs to treat the band like a real band and not an internet band with only one member.

Well that depends how long things go on for. Our medical experts are now talking about mental and psychological issues in both adults and kids from isolation. We've already had one protest about remaining in isolation, we've got rich people who go to the beach in large groups, and we've got football players going on boozy boys camping weekends with illegal firearms. The silence from our government is doing as much damage to this country than the noise from your government is doing to yours.
Yeah If it goes on for months there may be some issues. For some sooner. But I don't think it's there yet. We have those people too but they are getting arrested or fined. Except now some states are already lifting things. So we'll see what happens. A lot of these jack asses still believe trump that it's a democratic trick and that the states with democratic governors are inflating the number of deaths just to undermine him...even though this thing is worldwide. Frankly the gene pool could use some draining.

I still think its a small number that do that. Our rich beach goers looked like a big group but 2000 of them is barely 1% of population in that area. Even those protests in the US that became world news last week most people understood was only a very small portion of America. There will always be some idiots and none of those small groups are good if even one person is infected, but I still think there is less of them than we give them credit for. I also think some of them can be de-idiot-atized by offering some information not just giving them orders.
But don't we have the information? The WHO and scientists aren't holding back. They've told us what we need to do. Some people just don't want to accept it.

I think we've been in isolation longer than you, not much but a bit. Confusion between states is a big issue for us. We've got state leaders saying one thing on Monday, then on Tuesday their press conference is spent clarifying what they said on Monday because some have take what was said literally, some have taken it stupidly. For us it's that confusion that is driving people to argue about what is right and wrong. When it comes to schools the teachers in many places want schools open simply because they see remote learning failing, but the teachers unions are saying no and making a fuss about everything. Again it's the confusion that is screwing things up.

Oh I agree with that, but at the same time with flattening curves and numbers dropping dramatically it's not surprising people are getting a whiff of freedom. I still think there is too many 'experts', we have expert doctors, the chief medical officer, then we have medics turned journalists and they all have differing opinions as to what is right and wrong, yet they all supposedly get their information from the same place. I think every country, state is different and needs to be treated differently therefore local experts are required, but they also need to try and find common ground instead of arguing with each other, the politicians do enough of that

To me that reinforces staying home and not rush this. Right now my state is set to open halfway through May.
There's so much we don't know about this thing. Everyday they are learning it's even worse than we thought.
I know you get some US news, but it's worse than what you hear..I think. People drinking poison and I read something the other day that shows all these militia groups popping up and rapidly growing because they are being fanned by the president. You know the really dangerous nutjobs with tons of guns and the will to use them on their own people because we're not (real) Americans.

For some countries I agree with further restrictions and I still think open boarders should be a while off. But countries like here and New Zealand are seeing almost zero new cases and zero cases of public transmission. That's not to say we should relax every rule, but under the guide of the chief medical officer suggesting that some things should be relaxed I think he's to be believed. When the CMO says only x,y and z should be relaxed and three states agree but one state wants further restrictions you have to wonder what the motivation is.

I wouldn't pretend to know what is right for America because you're right we only get some news from there and 90% of it is headline driven hysteria not the actual news. We hear about death counts, people being buried, silly presidential comments, and of course we see those stupid curve graphs but we really know very little about what goes on beyond the headlines and what the media wants us too.

I saw an article last night which was listed as news stating Iranians are now drinking poison because Trump said so. Iranians have never listened to American before why the fuck would they listen to any president now? But here we are sold this as a legitimate news story, when it's little more than a fucking fluff piece thrown at us to legitimise the headlines we do get out of the US.
