The what's going on in Thrash thread

https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/w...ing-if-he-thought-he-had-contracted-covid-19/

Okay so I was going to comment about how Blabber just can't leave this shit alone, or something about them just trying to start shit because they have no real ability to report news. And while all that's true and Blabber are just shit I thought there might be more to it and it appears there is. But first of kudos to Will and Chuck!

Carroll added; "Fuck Blabbermouth. [Laughs] When I contacted Chuck, he had no idea what I was talking about. I was, like, 'Well, did you read Blabbermouth?' And he's, like, 'I don't read that site.' [Laughs]"

The original article, which Chuck hasn't even suggested came from his mouth, was posted on that Patreon site and it wasn't hard to link controversy with an author desperate to get people to pay for their shit with subscription fees. However looking at the patreon site now there is a bit more detail on the site itself. I apologise to the world that it's actually an Aussie author who started this bullshit, but even sadder than that it's actually affiliated with the once great metal mag Hot Metal. In the 80's and 90's it was the only local metal rag, good articles, good pics, cheap price (and I won all sort of stuff from them), but now it's turned into a pay for click site of bullshit stories and it appears Blabber are one of the subscribers.

I'm kind of surprised it got here within 3 days anyway. It's not a small parcel and the postal service and private couriers are working their butts off at the moment (worse than Christmas apparently). It's going to rain all weekend so I wont be putting it up anyway, but I am kind of glad it will be here rather than in someone's truck somewhere.
They're great though. My parents got the other half of their roof done. So they're getting 140% over and the electric company is buying it from them.

I'm only doing it on a small scale. 12volt power through the house to run things like lights and chargers off a deep cycle battery, kind of like if I was camping but on a larger scale. Over here putting a larger scale system on the house (say about 12 panels) costs in the vicinity of about $6000. The government are offering a rebate on panels which drops that down to $3000 but you have to pay the government back with interest. So given that most people can't afford to panel their house out of their own savings they end up paying something like $6000 with an interest rate of 5% over 15 years. Many are putting power back into the grid at about 5c per kilowatt, but also still paying off their loans to install the system. However in most cases they'll tell you they are getting paid for the power they make, but they wont tell you the loan is costing them way more.

If you want a large capacity battery like the Tesla ones for a house it will cost in excess of $25,000 here so despite the fact we have so much sun the power companies and solar companies have ensured it's not simply a case of them paying for the power we can make.

I'd like to hear Chuck's take on this Hot Metal interview. He hasn't even admitted to doing the interview, but he also hasn't said he didn't. I'd like to know if he actually did an interview or if the entire thing is fake.

It's so frustrating that everything cool that helps the environment and gives people a break financially has to get so fucked because of the greed corporations have. This is why we can't have nice things!

I'd like Chuck to run into that commenter on Blabber and make them repeat themselves.

In this country privatisation has pretty much driven it. When the government owned the power, gas etc, there was no competition. The government promised privatisation was going to create competition, more businesses trying to fight for business and lowing the cost, but it went the other way and they now compete for the highest price with contracts that are impossible to understand. It's like what happened was the exact opposite of what the government said would happen and no one saw it coming...actually everyone saw it coming and the government denied it would happen so therefore it never happened.

I haven't see the name or link appear in other Blabber articles but I wonder if Blabber have cited the patreon site since, or whether even they've realised what's printed there is bullshit.

Doomsday is 34 years old today and this was posted on F&J's FB page

To all of our American friends, band-mates and fans, we wish you a Happy 4th of July! Have a wonderful day, be safe igniting those fireworks and teach your neighbor how effing fantastic "Doomsday For The Deceiver" sounds after 34 years!
Since I'm not American I'll refrain from teaching my neighours anything. On one side they are in their 90's, on the other she's in her 70's and the guy across the road would just yell expletives at me...Well to be fair he does that whether he can hear my music or not.

Hahaha! Yeah probably better left alone for you! Don't wanna kill anyone. Or further disgruntle the already disgruntled.
I had no idea Doomsday was released on July 4th.

Lol they are going to use that until the sun explodes aren't they? There's absolutely no reason to do it.

Are you suggesting you don't need such a title to know who he is?
Like the stuff that Alex does it's good to see Marty doing something to show of his talent, but he really needs to do something metal.

I'm more scared of the guy across the road's wife :)

Is July 4th an actual holiday, day off work etc? In Australia our national day is a public holiday and 34 years ago nothing would have been open to actually sell the record.
