The what's going on in Thrash thread

Didn't know Scott had a brother lol. All this time :p

I remember Scott talking about him once as the vocalist but he didn't say much. It was short lived in 81 and 82 and there was another guy between him and Turbin. It seems like Anthrax back then was a bit of a revolving door of players. What surprised me was that he sung in Anthrax but played drums in Reverend 10 years later. Singing drummers could be a thing for Anthrax! He was only in one other band between Anthrax and Reverend and that was a band called Rug Rat which only released 1 demo.

Can't believe they apparently aren't going to celebrate the 20th album.

I suppose it's all going to be about timing. They can't tour anything for the moment and the 25th for Horroscope and 30th (was it for Feel the Fire) was quite successful so maybe 20 just isn't enough.

Maybe they've heard about the fuck up that in Anthrax's 30th POT and they don't want to go down that path :) Okay that's unfair I'm sure some people like that guide tracks of Scott's, although I'm not sure why, but for Aussie's the POT album is a dead set joke. There has been some reports that it wont come with the DVD here, there is some reports stating it will be a single disc only, neither of those are confirmed but given previous albums both are possible. But the biggest joke of them all is that those advertising the 2cd/1dvd combo are asking $43 for it, but if you want it on vinyl it's $110. Who the fuck is going to pay $110 for an album which basically has no new songs on it?

I think so too, and maybe the new one will be name accordingly since the can't tour a 20 album party tour.

We can buy the original POT for $9.99 on CD from the same shop. And they wonder why physical record sales are dropping :)

I saw that and didn't know what to think. Dave's obviously releasing parts of his book to the media as a way to push pre-orders so the information is coming from him but it's definitely being twisted by Blabber. This is why I hate the current way things are advertised and pushed. They did it with the Nick Menza book and I really didn't want to read it when it first came out because it sounded like Nick, and the writer, just wanted to piss on Dave. But the book was so much more, Nick had his say, it wasn't always colourful but it was respectful and he never actually blamed Dave for anything, he did suggest Dave was part of the problem but never the blame. I just never got that vibe from the way the press wrote about the book before it was released, and I kind of get the same feeling about Dave's book. He's a prick, we all know it, but they can make him an even bigger prick if they want to.

Those Reverend albums are pretty good if you like Wayne’s vocals at all!

I don't mind his vocals, the first EP is not great, but what follows until his death is some really solid metal. I think Reverend is generally better than the Metal Church album Wayne appeared on.

$25 for the new one and it says shipping in 1 to 2 months! What is that about?! Oh and Anthrax's website is no longer selling it.

Yeah it's like they gave him a break for a bit while he was being treated for cancer. But now over the last few months since his recovery they've slowly dropped these very negative sides of Dave, but it's all old news. A lot of those thing are things Dave wouldn't do anymore. Or just aren't that bad. Dave is Dave. It just seems like they want people to hate on him.

http://bravewords.com/news/megadeth...dy-to-know-how-truly-talented-those-guys-were

Look at the difference between how Blabber reports news about Dave's new book and how Bravewords do it. They've both got the same podcast, the same information, yet the Bravewords article is so much easier to read and isn't just a catchy headline. It's easy to see Bravewords doesn't rely on hits and comments to keep it valid.

No idea, but apparently Australia is still waiting too. It's been on Spotify, Deezer etc since the 21st when it was released but no one seems to be getting physical copies. Anthrax changed their FB header yesterday to say the album was at their website.

Dave can't (and doesn't) hide from his drug addled self of the early years and there are times when he even apologises for it, but the way some people and sites react is still over the top. I don't think too many are surprised to hear he treated some support acts badly, but people just want to sink the boots in like it's actually something they are hearing for the first time.

Interestingly enough the same podcast where Chuck mentioned Dave he also mentioned what got him through the cancer treatment and how his native american heritage played a part in that. On Metal Archives some dick decided to open the topic with how fucking stupid Chuck must be believing in something that's not real to get him through. They then move on to kick Dave, but this one guy took offence at Chuck actually having some sort of spiritual connection.
