The what's going on in Thrash thread

Yeah I've been busy with building new computers and kids schooling. I can wait till they go back to the classroom. They don't take up heaps of time each day but every time they ask me something it interrupts what I'm doing and it sometimes takes longer to get back into what I was doing that it takes to help them.

Thanks man, we are safe. TBH where we are is relatively covid free and although we are under restrictions it's because the major city needs restrictions not so much us. My wife is still working from the office. I'm still working from home, there is a lot of people worse off that we are. The best part about not living in the city, even if they suggest we wear face masks outside and only go out for exercise, is that we can still see the horizon so it doesn't feel like we are completely trapped. Our restrictions should ease in a few weeks, and if those city folk behave they might get theirs eased in a month or two.

I hope you guys are doing alright too. We only ever hear the bad news about the US here. If there is an outbreak, or high numbers we hear about it. If Trump or Biden say something silly we hear about it. When California has fires we hear about it. But we don't hear about how things are actually going, whether there is good news, or whether people there are having a win.

(gotta say I did wonder what happened to redfly a few weeks ago when he was sick, I was too scared to ask him if he got covid incase he spread it via the forum :) )

I remember the Fight gig I went to back in the 90's was selling Judas Priest shirts at the merch stand, it just didn't feel right. Marty's own shirts at a Megadeth gig is not quite the same but to me it's close.

The best story I remember reading about the reunion, and it may not be entirely true given the way both sides got upset, was from Nick about the dinner they had. Apparently Nick had been 'unofficially' back in the band for several weeks, they'd done some rehearsals, they'd talked and they were talking about taking it on the road. Marty was yet to say yes to anything and it was looking like they'd go ahead without Marty but then out of the blue from Japan Marty says he wants to sit down and thrash things out. They decide to meet for dinner and have a chat but when Marty turned up last with his manager in tow Dave got all shitty. Nick claimed something along the lines of, "Dave was put out by the fact that Marty brought along his manager to a dinner that was just supposed to be the original RIP line up so he stormed out and refused to discuss things further."
I guess my feeling is that it's hard for musicians. Metal in particular. Dave should know this more than most. Be a bro lol.

I think I remember that story. I can understand both sides of it if it's true.

Yeah I do agree that Dave should be fair and that's why I figure he'd be better off saying no to personal merch but yeah to an even share of the official Megadeth stuff.

I certainly don't blame Marty for taking his manager along. If he thought it was going to be a good chance Megadeth could reform his manager should hear the ideas as they came up. Dave walking out does sound like typical spit the dummy Dave though.

Lol, well if I did it was mild and short lived. I'm sure it wasn't but I self quarantined myself from my parents just in case.

With our hayfever season coming on I see a lot of people getting evil looks in public soon. It happened when this covid thing first broke, one sneeze, one cough and everyone around you turns and stares. It's so annoying you almost feel obliged to defend yourself for having a reaction that more than half the population get every other year.

Wow. I was just reading something that suggested this was supposed to be the cover of Extreme Aggression

Looks a bit amateurish, but no worse than others of the time. Appears the label didn't like it though.

And rumour is that this or something similar was supposed to be the Leave Scars cover but it was also banned.

Yeah, Thom is not going to be in demand much as a vocalist when he and Ellefson part ways. Must be nice to have friends in high places!

I was disappointed by some of the covers on that Ellefson cover album that they did, especially the vocals. The album cover looked awesome though and the track listing looked promising.
