The what's going on in Thrash thread

HA! That's good stuff. ;)

I heard on the news this morning that since crocs became a protected species in the 80's there are now so many of them it's starting to become a concern. Apparently croc attacks are up now too, with so many in the top end they no longer wait for swimmers in creeks, they just walk down the street in gangs and pick a nice house and preform a home invasion. (okay I may have made that last bit up)

I heard they were set to open some massive Croc farm? Usually I'm not really down with that. But gangs of crocs invading homes?!! Fuck that!!

You have to wonder when they are going to record this new album, whether they have a few songs done or not is beside the point now. There is only a few weeks left of this year, they aren't going to get much done even if they get off their butts now. That leaves them 6 months (give or take) until they head off to Europe, presumably for more than just one gig, (a HEADLINER!!). The week before this gig they are in Cadott WI (I assume that's Wisconsin?)...and this is from a band who said they wouldn't be comfortable touring until the end of 2021 into 2022.

When the hell are they going to find time to record this killer album? Either it's going to be rushed or it's going to need to be put off until after these gigs. Playing in the US and Europe 7 days a part also assumes no quarantining. I don't know if that is right overseas, I know they still expect overseas people will be quarantining here in OZ by mid next year, some even suggest quarantine will be a thing for a while with a vaccine. Seems to me that Anthrax are again pissing in the wind.

I suppose it could be that they are booking these gigs assuming they will be cancelled, but that seems to be a shitty way to do things. I know in this state we can't get insurance against the Tennis Open not being cancelled, therefore the discussions about when to actually play the event are very heated and touchy. I don't know if that's the same for gigs, but surely there must be some sort of hope these gigs will happen.

Ugh, it's going to be forever :yell:. At this rate Metallica will have an album done before them.

Well in some ways I'd rather an even longer wait (because other bands are producing stuff) than a rushed album. There are albums out there that took less than 6 months to produce that are still great albums, but I'm not sure Anthrax are a band that can do that. It does seem strange that a month or so ago the official comments were "we wont tour until the end of 2021", and "we'll record when we can start playing again" and then within weeks they start announcing shows but no album news.

In a silly aside to Anthrax and their ways they are now advertising POT watches. To me it looks like a normal watch, but I'm not up with watches, the description mentions buzz words like "100% designed by Campo" (whoever that is), "DLC satin black coated case," "a Japanese mechanical movement", "Swiss luminova on dial and hands", "premium vegetable tanned leather strap" and "Dave Ellefson". I think a watch as an accessory for POT is quite fitting, but part of me thinks it's also just a little bit funny that after all this time they get a watch created by someone Jnr recommends when the original album had someone who is reportedly one of the best watch makers in the world actually play on the album.
