The what's going on in Thrash thread

Oh I think we had the same problem here. That sounds very familiar.

I don't get the flu shot because I'm a dead set legend...no that's not right. I don't get it out of general laziness but at the same time I also haven't needed it. Now if they could invent a hayfever shot I'd line up for that.

Yeah they definitely do get the prize for that.
It's funny how many people actually throw shit at them for being hard working and producing so many albums.

I'm going to file this under good news, because I'm sure it will be. But in the first paragraph it's 'early 2021' and in the second it's 'something like' July, August September for the new release. I wouldn't call July early in any year
I think those albums listed sounded pretty good right? Under Ground and Below is the only one of those I really liked though lol. I guess they gave up on Sneap.

Yeah I'm certainly not writing the album off because of the producer.
Sneap could well be too busy. I don't know how much input he's having on the Priest album but I think I've heard his name dropped by a few other bands. I'm not overly disappointed they aren't going with Sneap, not that I don't like the guy but I'm happy to hear what someone else can do.

Yeah same here. I just hope they aren't doing it to save money.

Yeah that would suck. But I imagine there are quite a few producers/engineers getting calls and booking themselves up at the moment. They should pick Anthrax's producer, he's not doing much :)

Anyone heard the Dogz demo from '84 which pre-dates both the name Flots and their first two demos, Metal Shock and Iron Tears

Yeah but the thing with early demos is that the sound is so horrible that it doesn’t make for an enjoyable listen to me no matter for the sake of history, but That’s just me.

I reckon the sound on The Dogz, Metal Shock and Iron Tears are all pretty good for what they are and how many hands they'd have been though before they got to me. I haven't even listened to them on a decent system, just the laptop speakers and $8 headphones. The Dogz is obviously not studio quality of today, just like the early Exodus demos aren't but they are very listenable.

I dunno. I'm far from an audiophile. I listen to stuff on a cheap android MP3 player, a cheap Android car unit and a 30 year old Yamaha stereo. It's a long time since I was in a studio to hear studio quality and I doubt my hearing these days would be good enough to do studios justice anyway.

I've got the original RIP master tapes (all lossless recordings), each track, guitar, drums, bass, lead guitar, lead vox, backing vox all separate files and sure I can hear a difference between those and the CD but I'm not convinced it's better. Thousands of others would be, some probably just because they are told it's the tracks straight off the desk, but hearing is such an individual thing and just because I don't think the studio master is better doesn't make me wrong, just different.
