The what's going on in Thrash thread

I found it on YT and without knowing the intimate details of the band and Chuck as some might, it came across both honest and well told.

Yeah soooo I actually own it on dvd. It was fairly good. Except one of the guys talking about thrash like it was beneath death metal and what they were doing. I think it was the drummer from the first album. The drums on that album are nothing special lol.

Flotsam really needs much better merch and accessibility,this has always been a major problem!

Absolutely. They need to be on NB. Their label is good for putting out a boxset for each album. But other than that they suck.

Seems they need a better label too. I'm sure the label does look after them, after all they are a band, they get paid and they make music, but it always seems that getting things from the label when new albums come out is difficult. I'm pretty sure they are on the same label as Helloween yet the media machine that drove the new Helloween album was much more prominent than Flotz. Obviously they'd be under different deals and Helloween are a lot closer to home for the label than any American band but it just doesn't seem like Flotz gets their share.

Lol yeah they did a lot more for Helloween. German band on a German label. Go figure.

I thought the song had some good parts. but it's a no buyer for me. If it's the one I'm thinking of it got all singy and chorusy like lame radio metal.

Not that I want to buy it but I see Seps have a best of album out with guest musicians. The first track features Jnr. As much as I don't like new Seps I'm glad some bands haven't snubbed him.

New Act Of Denial with Steve DiGiorgio is out today too.

The album also has Skolnick, Phil Rind from Sacred Reich, Rob Cavestany from Death Angel, Hevy Devy, Phil Campbell, one of the girls from Nervosa and some buttkisser named Scott Ian. If it wasn't for the actual band that put their name to the album it might be alright

I wonder what he pulls in for that kind of thing. It's almost like session work except he's in the video. Can't imagine he's going to tour with them. I also wonder how he decides what to do and what not to do.

Looking at the tracklisting I like about 3 of the 15 songs in their original form and one of those is a Motorhead cover (at least it's with Phil Campbell). I know plenty of fans (even on Blabber ) say it's mean not liking Seps because they aren't the original band, many even say it's racist, but I just don't like Derek's vocals and I don't see anything great in the guitar or drums any more. If current fans can't handle that without getting shitty then fuck 'em

Most of the old fans don't like Max's wife because they blame her for splitting the band....and no her name isn't Sharon

Fans are fans and they stick up for their idols/bands/whatever, I don't have a problem with that, hell even Ripper has fans and he's fucking terrible! But I've never heard a Ripper fan call someone racist for hating him. Seps were obviously huge in their homeland, but they were also universally liked, how not liking an international band with a new singer is suddenly racist is beyond me. But I guess those die hards that do like Derek need something to throw around because you can't just have people not liking your favourite band, there has to be a reason.
