The what's going on in Thrash thread

Yeah technically a sit down show over video is the same as a meet and greet. I understand he's probably already cut the price a bit but it's not like such an event will be that busy he should have just made one price and offered all people a 'meet and greet' for $30

For all the talk about Jnr being a hired gun in the band he helped form you'd have to think Joey is definitely nothing more than that to Anthrax these days.

I'd imagine the numbers are so small that you'd get as much meeting in the group as you would in the meet and greet. It said something about the meet and greet includes a personal chat with Joey and a look around his bedroom (actually that last bit might not be right), where as the cheaper package was just to hear/see him talk about what ever he plans to talk about.

Oh wow. No kidding. Lol John "Tempesto"

Oh an unrelated Exodus note.
I was just reading on MA (from some guy who claims to have interviewed Gary at a BBQ), that they don't play any songs from Impact of Force Of Habit because the record company own the rights and both are out of print, therefore Gary doesn't want people hearing songs they can't buy. I heard Gary in a Q&A a few months back say he likes Impact and would like to play some songs off it, but he didn't give reasons. I guess maybe that reason could be that they aren't in print.

People can still find just about everything digitally nowadays although not as good sounding MP3 wise but it’s all pretty much out there. But then again not having the rights does make it pretty shitty! However should Gary really be that concerned about playing that material live?

Really that is weird because it was posted on Blabby as well.

Yeah I was just reading the Blabber story, which is as usual full of fluff, but does show the box in the video.
Good luck to them but I own 2 of them on cassette and 4 on CD, and they are proper CD cases. I guess this is good for the fan who is just getting into Overkill but otherwise it just looks like Atlantic trying to make some money off Overkill by boxing up the back catalogue for a cheaper price.

Yeah I don't know what to make of the comment (or the commentor that claims he interviewed Gary at a BBQ). Both could be 100% honest I really don't know. But I agree that the music is out there, both albums are on YT, so not being able to get the music doesn't seem like a viable excuse. But I'm also not going to argue with Gary, his reasons are his reasons, he claims he likes the songs but I've never heard him give and actual reason for not playing any. From his Q&A he loves the riffing from Changing Of The Guard, but it's still gotta be hard picking songs from a 40 year old back catalogue.

It would be killer though if a pro shot DVD were released with deep cuts of that era.Just for us older chaps!

There could be a new fan out there somewhere reading this and not have all the albums.
There could also be someone reading the Blabber article and realising for the first time, thanks to Blabber, that Overkill named themselves after an album by some band called Motorhead.

For sure!
Impact seems to be universally hated by so many but I loved it, always have loved it. Force of habit a bit less so, but even that has some decent stuff on it. I'd love a show of older stuff like that, kind of like what Maiden did with their 'best of tour'
