The what's going on in Thrash thread

They haven't, they've been around since about 2006, but that's how I read it the first time too. It's bad writing, the writer is suggesting thrash has been around for 30 years.

It's nearly 30 years old but there is an Anthrax gig from the Wallace Civic Center Fitchburg 1993 on that bootleg site that is from the SOWN tour. With the current talk (probably originating from John himself) about Anthrax and John doing something live, and the talk in the Anthrax threads about Greater of Two Evils and how John sings Joey era songs it's well worth a listen. Sure we are used to Joey singing songs like Caught In A Mosh and Indians etc but John's efforts on the SOWN tour were pretty darn fantastic still.

Oh for sure he definitely had the whine happening at times but I tend to think he was more accepted as a vocalist after RIP and before Risk. He seemed to have more melody and tune, which suited those songs better. (But I could be wrong.) I really like his voice on Peace Sells, although I think there was more aggression in it on SFSGSW. Do you reckon Dave uses an auto tune (or similar)? :)

Yeah you're right I think he did get more recognition from Countdown and Youth. He for sure had a bit more melody and vibrato after RIP. Although I think his singing Mary Jane and In My Darkest Hour are even better. And his aggression on SFSGSW is I think his best.

He got the wrong kind of recognition for Risk and WNAH :)
According to Wiki (which is obviously 100% correct) Nick and Jnr sang backing vocals on RIP, but I was listening to the backing vocals track the other day and it sounds more like a fucking terrible Dave than it does the other two.

Haha I saw that this morning. Obviously it's a very good marketing connection and makes one wonder why it's taken them so long to come up with it, but you're dead right. FUCK!!

Oh wiki is always dead on! I've never heard Jr or Nick mention they did backing. I've seen Jr do it live so it's plausible. But if you're thinking Dave it probably is. The other two sound nothing like him.

I know I'm probably in the minority. But don't hate this. I like fun nostalgia merch. And this actually is something need now anyway..not like a new record! You sons o bitches!. You lazy knuckle dragging... Oh sorry, I kinda trailed off for a second .Ahem. If it's priced like any other sanitizer I'm ok. If they are fleecing people for the Anthrax name I'm not.
And I agree. I'm surprised this didn't come sooner!

For me if it's not him it's one of those moments where Nick was being a shithead and mimicking Dave. :)
To be honest it doesn't sound completely like Dave, but it doesn't sound anything like the other two...and what's with Nick and Jnr doing backing vocals but Marty not getting a shot? No wonder Marty was hesitant to come back, he wasn't treated as an equal :)
