The what's going on in Thrash thread

Firstly: This explains why there has been no new album.
Secondly: They do play the same songs every show.
Thirdly: The guy is basically saying "this is not us" while explaining exactly what is them
Fourthly (is that a word?): I think he has an over active imagination about how popular his band actually is in the big scheme of the music.
Fifthly (if fourthly works I'm using fifthly): And you thought metal with Mr. Underpants Shouty Man at the forefront of a metal band was a joke, well the joke just met it's punchline!! :P

I have to sadly and completely agree. Also kinda saying you're lucky you get new music from us. Aren't we great for it?
Someone slap him. Someone give Joey and Frankie a good thrash band to be in.

Yeah it's kind of sad that Scott (and maybe Charlie) have become this. As much as Kings onward has been good for Anthrax I still don't think they recovered from the slump of the 00's. They were probably never destined to be on a par with Megadeth, and definitely not Slayer or Metallica after all these years, but they could have still been a major force in metal. But subsequent years of very average releases while still getting a reasonable income from their back catalogue made them lazy. I feel a bit sorry for the diehard fans who think Anthrax can do no wrong, they have been making excuse after excuse for the band and now Scott basically tells them he doesn't give a fuck about them.

Just reading the new comments on that Anthrax article and I'm not surprised to see the reaction by most people, even if it is pretty much the same people who comment all the time. However this comment jumped out at me.

Hey Scott, what about giving back the money you stole with Absolute Poker and UltimateBet Poker in 2011? You got away with 50 million. You are a scam artist and your band is a joke.
What's the go wit that? Scott's only worth $6m according to the internet not $50m.

The closest thing I can find is that in 2008 he took part in some celebrity poker thing. UltimateBet then singed him as an online poker player which in itself was nothing special because one of our Aussie 'always in news' cricketers got signed on pretty much the same deal. Scott won a tournament and played well, then in in 2010 he came 634th out of 6494 main event. There is no mention of $50m or any sort of controversy. Could be as simple as someone he played against and beat being all sooky, but it seems like...actually I just found something else.

No mention of actual figures but several executives from Absolute Poker and UltimateBet Poker who hired 11 poker players to play professional poker (of which it seems Scott was one), were charged with fraud and screwing over the banks. They were found guilty and charged. Unless Scott was part of the executive committee, which there seems to be no evidence of, it's got nothing to do with him.

I feel like if Scott won $50 mill he would leave Anthrax and retire.

This quote appeared on my FB feed. I believe it came from that video linked on Blabber.

"...This is the absolute perfect follow-up to ''. We couldn't have planned it any better. We all basically put on our work boots, or whatever, and we started writing, and it ended up coming out… It's like ' ' on steroids, basically. I think you guys are gonna love it...." -
Sounds good to me. I wonder if he'll send me a copy to preview before the rest of the world? :)

Yeah given his lack of effort over the last few years I think that's a fair assumption.
I find it amusing that some shmuck on Blabber is so pissed off about that Ultimate bet thing that he thinks Scott (and presumably the other 11 celebs) actually had something to do with the fraud.

In DC? Yeah but it's hard to figure out exactly what is happening. It doesn't look good but the commentary we are getting is really arrogant and rather than report what's actually happening they seem to be telling us what they think we want to hear.

That's not restricted only to the US news though. Currently our news service is telling us the cricket match on Dec 27 is a covid hotspot for 30,000 fans and a shopping centre the day before has put more than 20,000 at risk. What they mean to say is that a covid positive person was at both places before he was contagious and they need people to get tested because they don't yet know who gave it to him. There is no evidence yet that either is an actual hotspot, or even dangerous but that's not what the news is telling us.
