The what's going on in Thrash thread

I got the impression from that "Ask Exodus" thing with Gary a few weeks ago that he's cleaned up things quite a bit. Maybe not to the extent of Gene who only seems to eat protein powders but at least to the point where he was thinking about what he ate and drank and even how much sleep he got.

I think it's a great thing to see such guys doing this sort of thing. Giving up any addiction is hard and Gary really does seem to have a new vigor about him which I hope keeps Exodus going for years to come.
I didn't know he had an issue with lol. Good for him!

I don't think he's admitting to being an alcoholic, I think it's more about the culture and he's realised his body and mind can't do what it used to do. I could be wrong but I read it as him being at an age where he realised the alcohol was not helping his health and it was possibly causing him issues. Technically that probably is an alcoholic but I tend to think the definition is more about people who can't get through a day without alcohol and I don't believe Gary admitted to being that bad.

Sigh. I was really hoping that Blabber would drop or last least have less political bullshit with the election over. but they just keep giving voice to these people. Not surprised. I was just hoping.

Yeah it's kind of weird, I know the Blabber Ted Talks are always inundated with comments but he's not and never has been metal and these days he barely even talks about music. But then after throwing his BS out there they seem to want to come across as unbiased so they throw some other shit for the other team. Obviously the music industry is slow right now but there has to be something out there better than political news and arguments.

To be fair I don't think we need a review from Blabber if it's going to be anything like Metal Injection which started out with words to the effect of, "I wasn't going to review this album but...."

Oh yeah. I agree with you all. It just seemed weird. They seems like they review every obscure thing they can. But didn't do this.
Oh and I guess, fuck Metal Injection.

It could be that they are just being deliberately late to the party because BraveWords got the exclusives and Blabber got SFA

Man I've never seen anyone milk an ep like this. What do they have to wait so they can tour on an ep?!

Yeah it better be a bloody good EP for all this chatter. I suppose they might get some smaller gigs around the US based on the hype and the first few albums but it's going to be a hard push going anywhere else. I know they were due to play here (maybe with Sacred Reich I can't remember) but there is no way they'd get their own tour here like so many other bands of the time were able to do pre-covid.

Well, it is a comeback to releasing new songs after nearly 3 decades.

I like everyone would prefer a full album but sometimes the choice is EP or nothing. These guys have wives, kids, lawns to maintain, and real jobs that pay actual money now. A lot of those thrash musicians back in the day were living with mom and dad.

Truthfully, I think the metal scene in general doesn't even buy EPs. They barely buy music at all anyway, but EPs even less.
