The what's going on in Thrash thread

Wow a Super Pit? That's pretty crazy and sounds very metal!

I'm glad you guys didn't get it any worse. I can't imagine a worse time to have to have your house fixed and appliances replaced. Everything is so expensive right now and people still have to wait for things. Not to mention the squish factor!

It's very metal, it's a gold mine!! https://www.superpit.com.au/
The second one looks a bit like the one we watched.

Yeah it's a terrible time for repairs, we do have it a little better in the country because trades can work, lockdowns although still active to some degree are not a huge issue, but prices are definitely over the top right now.

In really weird and maybe ironic timing the state government decided a few days ago that if we want to get out of covid it was essential to shut down the construction industry for 2 weeks because it was spreading covid more than any other industry given the non compliance with masks and vaxes etc. Some would say they should have been shut down already but you know business needs to keep high paid workers working, So we've had two days of violent protests by construction works (and fuckwit anti-vaxers) causing problems, now there is an earthquake and technically no construction workers to fix any damage! Someone up stairs is looking down and laughing at us :)

Here's a video of a snow cam on a mountain about 45 mins from here. Buller isn't the highest mountain here but it's one of the ski slopes that everyone rushes too, kinds of like Aspen only in Australia and less rich people :)
If you look at about the 12 second mark there is two flashes which scientists actually think are earthquake lights. I was sceptical at first thinking it was just a camera thing, but they are real things. Earthquake Lights.

Kudos to the skiers who stayed upright :)

They should put their money where their stupid mouths are and redo it then. I'm sick of hearing about how good it would have been. I like the album.

It's better than most all of their discography and they never cease putting it down. When is the last time we've heard Charlie play as well as this?

The album has also had an anniversary re-release hasn't it? Why the hell didn't they fix the problems with it and re-record it as a part of the anniversary. Seems like a bit of a rip off to the fans to have them say 'we could have done better, but here's the shitty old version with the word anniversary on the cover'.
Yup it did. And who the hell knows. Because it's easier to say it could have been a lot better than to actually try and fail at making it better?

Oh no way. That really is like someone's getting a kick out of knocking over the ant hills!

It does make you wonder if Scott and Charlie have anything else to offer. Their lack of new output, their constant put down of an old album, their happiness to not be a big band any more. Maybe they really do need to retire.

It is pretty amazing to witness even though you have to stand so far away. Looking down at those massive big wheeled yellow trucks from where we were and they looked like miniature matchbox cars and trucks. The scale these guys and gals work on is unfathomable to most people.
