You know, up until the last 5 or so replies, this thread was one of the only ones I've seen to have gone on this long and NOT have strayed from topic. Finally it did, and now the universe is complete.

Prepare for destruction.

Howabout this: made a batch of holiday brew this weekend. It's gurgling on my desk at home. Seriously- it makes bubbly mad-scientist lab noises all day as the yeast goes to work. Pretty darn neat, but I've got no webcam or camera to record it. I could always mic it, I suppose....

only 2 more days till batch 1 is ready for drinking!

oh and what should we make next? I think we've got it narrowed down to either a Chimay (Belgian abbey-style beer) or a Fullers ESB (bitter english beer) clone.

That's why I abstained from posting in this thread for so long, I knew my presence would fuck it up.

tasted beer batch #1. Not quite yet finished as the sugars haven't fully converted to carbonation, but the flavor is nice. A tiny bit darker than Newcastle, but just as nutty and good. Although not perfect, it's quite nice and I'm happy.

Why can Bevmo ship wine to Missouri, but not beer?!? I HATE THIS.

I will never get to try these CA/AK beers.

CRAP CRAP CRAP.

I was all 'OK I'll just order a bunch of these beers at once, and it'll be all nicey nice and I can have all the good beers that avi gets to have.'

DENIED.
I mean I know some of the breweries like alaskan don't ship eastward because they want to preserve control over the freshness/quality of the beer. But I figured I'd at least be able to get something from there. ALAS, NO BEER CAN BE SHIPPED HERE.

no, I think spirits are on the list, too. it's messed up, I know. the wine lobby gets inter-state shipping, but beer does not. Maybe you can order straight from the brewery? Or check with an in-state importer/distro - maybe they can do a special order or something.

Well, I know Alaskan brewery stuff i won't get from what i read on their site. but maybe anderson or full sail or something...
I'll talk to the local dece booze shop. they carry pyramid stuff, but don't have snow cap for some reason.
