Although I prefer Follow the Reaper to Hatecrew Deathroll, The newer Bodom is my favorite. I actually like how heavy they have gotten.

i really don't think HCDR should be in the same category as AYDY... HCDR compared to AYDY is like comparing Beethoven to Nirvana.

I like older CoB better. In fact as I have stated many a times, Follow the Reaper is my fav album, then Something Wild comes a close second. I like Hatecrew better than Hatebreeder however. I also agree with Elysian that HCDR shouldn't be considered "newer" CoB.
AYDY has grown on me and I do overall enjoy it. Especially Living Dead Beat. I think that is a really good song. However I am a bit dissapointed with the rest of the material on the album and alot of it is generic. I know CoB can do better, what ever happened to total melodic meltdown songs like Red Light in My Eyes part 2, Northern Comfort, Needled 24/7, and Towards Dead End? That is the CoB that I miss. I like the heavier focus of the new album and the more "in your face" (no put intended) riffing in general. I also enjoy the majority of the solos, but I miss the old CoB "feel." Nothing really moved me in a way from this album like their other material did. Only thing that gave me that "this kicks fucking ass" feel was the solo in LDB. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give AYDY a 6. All the other CoB albums are 10s easily. Something isn't right. An example: This is like CoB's Anthems of Rebellion for me. At least Arch Enemy made up for that album with their lastest one.
In general alot of the older fans, and fans of the older material dislike or use AYDY as a cup coaster. I am pretty sure if you took a poll like this on the cobhc website you would get the same results but on a larger scale.

Older for sure, I'd take Hatebreeder over all the other albums together. I ofc like other stuff, even new stuff too but for me Hatebreeder is the bodom album.
