This will settle it

Do you like new COB or older COB better?

i think the bodom guys were cooler back in the day plus there music was alot more faster paced and more power metally. well i like power/thras/speed metal bands so.... but i mean i think they were alot more into the music back then and they played wat they wanted and not wat 15-year-old american metalcore kids want

I like the older stuff is better but the new bodom stuff is decent Living dead beat and trashed lost and strung out. if you get the new BK&BM magazine (some canadian magazine i randomly picked up) alexi says he likes the new stuff better.....lits just hope it doesen't get worse.

The thing I don't get is, instead of adapting Children of Bodom to what American metal sounds like America should have adapted to what Children of Bodom sounded like.
too true i knew alexi would eventually change the sound to a crappier sound, he just seems like they kind of guy that likes to follow trends.

I agree with this too. But look at Alexi's influences these days and what he's listening to. That will explain the reason of the change.

Wow, I'm suprised that New Children of Bodom has 15 votes. I'm not trying to bash New CoB or anything, I am just simply very suprised that quite a few people actually prefer it over their older stuff. I mean, Alexi really has to write some more of the kickass riffs he used to.

Of course, I mean nowadays he listens to System of a Down, Slipknot and all that nu-metal crap sheizen. COB is goooinnnng doooooownnnnnn theeeee draaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnn....... .:erk:

i like hatebreeder and hatecrew deathroll the best so im kinda in between new and old ... i think it all kicks ass though

I don't really get how people can say the newer stuff is better. I don't really count HCDR as "new" Bodom but it's not quite as good as the "old". Personally I don't count AYDY as proper Bodom cos where's the classical influences like in Black Widow, Red Light In My Eyes Pt.2 and most of FTR gone. And there isn't any spectacular Guitar+Keyboard duels. Sorry it's just not true bodom.

Children Of Bodom fans are very nice!!

I got insulted on another message board cuz I said I like HCDR & AYDY!! & THEN I got further insulted cuz I only got into them during the time of Hatebreeder and had never heard of them during Something Wild?! WHAT?! So, apparently I'm not a true fan because of that!

Aaanyway, joining in your debate, in my opinion Hatebreeder or Follow The Reaper are the best albums... I can't quite decide between the two... Prob Follow The Reaper! (I'll change my mind in an hour or so!) But yeah, I voted Old Bodom cuz I do like EVERY song on all the old albums, but there's quite a few songs on HCDR that I don't particularly like, and a couple on AYDY that I completely skip! Sorry!

Older Bodom, thats for shure...

I disagree the new albumn is definately good but its not as technical. The older albumns had alot more melodies and faster and more insane solos.

How come HCDR is considered new Bodom?

For me new Bodom doesn't include HCDR. That was when COB was still outstanding.

I don't think the question is whether it's outstanding or not to say if it's new or old. A lot of things did change on HCDR, No neoclassical, industrial influences, cleaner production, silly song titles, blah blah blah... don't get me wrong it's my 2nd favorite CD but it is different enough for me to see why it's classified as "new"

If you say AYDY is their best album and you've joined this board in Nov 05 then you'll get blasted to no end!

ya..sorry its too late to become a bodom fan, you missed the deadline...no more fans aloud...no new people can hear them and say they like them if they havnt heard them yet...if you have not heard them yet and then do hear them in the near future and happen to like them then you are a very bad person and will be shunned, and with good reason too.

oh and also its all americas fault the new bodom sounds the way it does because thats where some of the bands that alexi listens to are from. shame on americans..all 280,000,000 of them. i think its safe to say that because slipknot is from america and alexi listens to them then its americas fault. right? ok, glad you all agree. everyday i thank god on what a great job he did creating such brilliant open minded people.

i could really go on...
