Playing a song off Are You Dead Yet is a lot harder then playing a song off of Hatebreeder. Well, with a band and getting it tight. It isn't simpler riffs. It is a lot harder to play. And it is heavier... Yes downtuning lower makes it heavier.

I like it all, it ranges from extremley difficult to basic chord structures, i can play it all but I like it all aswell, AYDY had some downs but so did all the other albums, lets all just wait to see what happens with sinergy before we all decide that we hate alexi

Well good for us.

I like old COB better, by a lot.. Maybe it's because they had a more melodic and power-like songs.

My favourite album I have come to realized (after a long time), is Something Wild. Guess because it was the first COB album I ever heard (ah...Touch Like an Angel of Death... ).

I think the biggest difference between the old and new stuff is that CoB has become a trendy band and all wannabetrue-evilmetallers can't stand it.

BTW: Voted for the new ones because I remember the feeling of hearing Needled 24/7 for the first time.

i just wanted to see what the majority of the board likes, i figured older, but i wanted to see on what scale(based on those who voted), I mean, i totally prefer the first 3, to the newer stuff, but the newer stuff has it's moment, but like I said, Hatebreeder, Follow the Reaper, and Something Wild are on my top 10 favorite albums and always will be. yea, it's definetely not as skilled, but people bitching about that are just straight out being elitist, which isn't exactly teh best way to live your life imo. of course now that COB are getting bigger(especially in America) they're going to be alot more commercial, is that such a bad thing? to most, no. to some yes(coincidently, mostly black metallers) but so what. as someone already said, just because you're commercial doesn't mean you're a sellout. when you start appearing on MTV on a weekly basis, and start selling spatulas with your band name on them, and changing the style of your music because of whats popular, THAT is selling out. yea, AYDY? is alot heavier, with ONE breakdown riff in We're Not Gonna Fall(correct me if i'm wrong) wince when does just make someone a hardcore band , and once again for any of you elitist assholes who want to label me a hxc lover just because I'm american, i hate hardcore with a passion. like i said, imo, i don't think one breakdown riff makes you hxc. it's alot heavier yes, but Alexi has HATE tatooed on his fingers for a reason...but in concurrence with the others, i do wish they would go back to the old style...
