This Year's Ozzfest

I'll go to Ozzfest for $30 or under, which isn't likely. The venue is really nice and pretty close to me, except getting out of the parking lot literally takes 2 to 3 hours.

Yeah, you really need to exercise your journalistic privelleges Mr Man. I'm not sure why you pay to see any show (provided there is a band on the bill on one of our labels.)

If you want to go this year, get on the guest list and write a live report from backstage.

let's not forget that some outdoor events now do not sell alcohol.
this is what happened at the Maiden show at Jones Beach ... might as well watch the DVD.

I always blank on stuff like that, don't know why. :dopey:

Hey do we have Meteorcity? That's Hermano and The Hidden Hand's label, Hermano has a show Saturday I haven't bought tickets for.

Maybe the Hidden Hand used to be on Meteorcity, I just glanced their release list to see if I recognized a band we had reviewed/discussed. Either way, d'ohkay. I need to send Josh a picture of David Hasselhoff he requested anyhow, I'll email him tonight.

I'm up for Camden, no worries. Except for all the dodgy people that come out after dark. First time I went there, I decided to take the train. After the show, EVERYONE got into their cars and drove away as fast as they could. Meanwhile, I had to walk to the trainstation. How I survived I'll never know.
When the time comes, take the train to the Princeton Junction stop. It's Yuppieville (no dodgy people), and it's 10 minutes from my house. I'll pick you up and we'll drive down to meet Jason. I can either drop you at the train station after the show, or you can crash at my house (also in Yuppieville).

Oh perfect! I can get to Princeton Junction from Secaucus Junction easily. Thanks.

Zod, you thinking of parking at the Tweeter Center? If so, I can meet and tailgate with you guys at the venue after taking the ferry over. If not, I'm almost wondering if it would be easier to come and meet up with you guys, hang out, and then come down to the Tweeter together through whatever other means.

Is it not safe to park there?

Whatever is easiest for you. We can swing by and pick you up at the ferry, or I can pick you up at either the Princeton Junction or the Trenton train stations. Since we'll be going to Camden, I plan on bringing both my Rottweiler (Oz) and my 9mm.

I parked there once and will never do it again. Getting out after a show takes forever, and it's in such a bad area that it's just not worth the risk of break ins and such. Of course, tailgating without a car pretty much blows all sortsa chunks. Maybe it's gotten better since that one experience, so if you're willing to give it a shot it'll be easier to tailgate.

The ferry lets you off right behind the venue - that's why it's such a great alternative. I park on the Philly side, and board the ferry right at Penn's Landing. They run very frequently after the show as well and get out very quickly.

I always park relatively close to the exit, so that getting out isn't a problem. As for the break-in issue, I'm not sure how else I would get to the Tweeter Center, other than by car.

Camden looks like NYC in "Escape from New York". Why don't they just clean that area up? Or better yet, just drop a nuke on it and start again. Even those dirty fish in the aquarium look like gangstas.

Heh, good point. I guess I was thinking of you coming into Philly and taking the ferry over with me. Seriously though, if you've never had problems, than shit yeah, park there, I'll meet you guys at the car and we'll tailgate our asses off!! Bring extra booze, I'll drink it and then pay you whenever it's convenient. Of course, never would be the most convenient for me. :goggly:

I still want to hear Dehumanizer. I think Dio live is phenomenal. He still puts on a great show even today.

Don't bother, it's shit.

I gotta ask...what do you guys mean when you say 'tailgating'? Over here it means you drive far too close to the driver in front of you...if it means the same over there why not give your mate directions and organise a time and place to meet? :loco:
And it's kinda funny seeing you guys calling Camden all my pals and gangsta...Camden in London sounds like the biggest queer zone ever from what I hear :loco:

Camden, London >>>>>>>>>> Camden, NJ

Regarding Camden, NJ -- you ever see those films where the ghetto is filled with broken down buildings, boarded up windows, cars jacked up on bricks, guys standing around fires in trash cans, graffitti, piss, shit, blood, police barracades, and a remaining white outline of a murdered body in the middle of the street? That's the posh bit.
