This Year's Ozzfest

I'm trying to buy a house, and I'm not scoring. Oh and I can't stop listening to stoner rock. My boss quit and my workload increased quite a bit, but since I'm so fucking cool I'm still able to dick around here a decent part of most days.

That's about it on my front. :)

Sounds good, sounds good. Which stoner bands are dominating your stereo?

Kyuss, Hermano, Unida, all the other Homme and Garcia projects, Beaten Back to Pure, Acid King, House of Aquarius, Down, COC, etc. etc. And now the weather is getting warm again, FINALLY, so I've gone from  to :kickass: as of late.

FYI, I was reading that Megadeth will be doing their own 5-6 band festival hitting medium-sized venues. Don't know what that means to Ozzfest, but...it's something. :)

Yo yo. Although it won't have Maiden, I have a feeling it will be a phenomenal line up. It's their farewell tour (before they carry on as "The Dave Mustaine Band" :loco: ) so he'll most likely get Exodus, Death Angel, and a few others. It'll be a Clash of the Titans thing, just small venues.

Also, I'd be up for a meet-up too, at either PNC or Camden. Ali, I'll drive. Fuck that train noise.

Yeah yeah, that's fine, just like Maiden the last time! What about ProgPower this year? It's a mighty fine line up. Shoot me an e-mail or sumfink.

I think it depends on the dude. Is it the singer/guitarist dude, or the hired gun dude that rapes 17 year old bitches? If the former I would guess a fan, the latter I would guess was being "ironic."

It was the latter...anyway, 17-year olds are legal.

In the news story the bird was younger, like 13, but everyone knows all women are whores, she blatantly wanted it :Spin:

Yeah, exactly!

I didn't get a gold badge, so my guess is I'm off the "list," and to be honest, there's really only 3 bands I care to see anyway. Hopefully Angra will book a one-off in NYC. Where are you these days? Still Florida?

I'm going to see Amorphis on Sunday night, btw.

Well hey! That's not too far for a change. Driving distance? Or you stay up there during the week still? Wanna come to the show Sunday night?

Believe it or not, this project has me working Sunday nights. Granted, it's from home, but some of the team is in China (off-shore) so Sunday night is their Monday morning. Sometimes I drive back during the week, sometimes I stay in a hotel if I work late. It's an intense project through to June.

CT is not far, but the traffic is a disaster. especially since I can't get up before 7am. :loco:

The Amorphis setlist looks phenomenal!

Where can I see it? I'd like to have a clue what song is what...I think I'm going to be too lazy to tape the show...

Uh, I can't be bothered to search either, but I will name some of the highlights I remember: Drowned Maid, SIGN FROM THE NORTH SIDE, The Castaway, Against Widows, My Kantele, On Rich and Poor, Greed, Divinity, Summer's End, and a bunch of other stuff

You bastard! ;)

Anyone remember the title of the thread? I'm going looking

It's called something like "SO HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN AMORPHIS' RECENT SETLISTS" but trust me, it's like the songs I listed above and about 5 songs from Am Universum and the new one.

I believe you, I just want to see it in its entirety. I'm really not terribly familiar with Amorphis' catalog, so names will help me provided I can stay even remotely sober.

word has it that Maiden isn't playing the Southern states on the tour. Figures. Fucking geezers, haha. Not man enough for the South.

IRON MAIDEN To Play One-Hour Set At This Year's OZZFEST - Mar. 20, 2005

MaidenFans.com is reporting that IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson revealed on his BBC 6 Music radio show Saturday night (March 19) that MAIDEN will be playing a one-hour set during this year's Ozzfest.

Although this is not very surprising considering the number of bands slated to appear on the Ozzfest main stage (including festival closers BLACK SABBATH), it still comes as a disappointment to many U.S. fans.

this is lame ... looks like a definite no go for me then.

i don't know ... i guess on one hand it will be a very carefully picked setlist ... and they are probably blaze through it no nonsense style.
on the other hand ... I will be very pissed when they warm everyone up and then ... fucking ozzy that old fuck is all i have to look forward to
