Thrash!

Wow,you're discovering Metallica so late. Why is that? Finally got tired of your Satyricon, Dark Funeral and Deicide albums?

I'm just kidding.:p
Ah, this makes me want to go back to the day I first heard Fight Fire with Fire. Although I'm not sure, I think the first song of theirs I heard was from the Black album-Unforgiven, if I'm not mistaken.
I was mostly into Metallica in high school when I rarely bought CD's, I've liked them all along though, pretty much the same thing with Meshuggah, Pantera, Lamb of God, and Cradle of Filth.
No, I still like those 3 bands you mentioned quite a bit. :p

Listened to a little Testament. Souls Of Black and Practice What You Preach. On the whole Souls Of Black was better. There was just something...missing with PWYP. Maybe on subsequent listens it'll seem better, but it just doesn't seem that good.

Well they're not exactly thrash but I'm looking for something similar to Municipal Waste...any recommendations?

I can't get enough of them lately. I can't believe I missed the MW/Iron Lung tour.

I started listening to Municipal Waste, man... they are the fucking shit! :kickass:

I saw them live with At the Gates and they are fucking awesome. A little repetitive, but it's good party music.

Vio-Lence. They're a little thrashier and philosophical than MW, but they have excellent crossover qualities.

Brocas Helm and Blind Illusion are playing together tonight in San Francisco

brocas helm are also playing in november in oakland with a ton of new thrash bands, its gunna be hella sick, my band is playing on that show. hopefully we might play this thursday with sentinel beast, that'd be fuckin insane!

He injured his back, but that was...6 years ago at least. I asked Gene Hoglan about it at a festival like 4 or 5 years ago. I don't give a fuck now. The band needs to stay dead, especially if they don't have Don Doty.

So anyone else heard the rumour of a Merciless reunion? Cant find it anywhere on the net but i spoke with some guy in a pub yesterday and he said they were gonna make some new material.

It's varied enough for me. From the One-inspiring machine-gun rhythm in the title track to the pulsating double-bass in Death Is Certain (Life Is Not) it's probably the highlight of the whole album. :kickass:
