Tips on getting this kind of snare sound

I found this snare sound that I really like, which can be heard in these:

particularly the second examples snare.

All I have is the NY Avatar kit in SD, I'm thinking the 10" GMS is the closest?

Well I used the dark side of the force to get this. If you want to do this you need to become a sith lord.

I would say the Rodgers Wood snare, tuned up to match the pitch.

Got quite a lot of sustain on it too, use a compressor with a fast release or a transient designer

Hang on, I just watched the first video (didn't click it earlier, just the RBF one). Those snares are NOTHING alike So my initial advice was for the Reel Big Fish sound, btw.
