It's impossible for me not to learn bits of songs I play a lot, but it's only when I activly read the lyrics that I learn them by heart, and that only happens with band I know have something good to say. Lyrics is what can make a good record exceptional, but less good lyrics don't necessarily make it less good, I tend to ignore them in that case.
