[tobedeletedsoon] Profanity is bitching...

Im not surprised, thats the kind of things that come out of that off topic forum, its like a virus and it could spread to all the corners of UM.com. If i ever get to talk to Sundin i would give my honest opinion and advice to just move the forum to another host. Im shure that for equal or bit more of the bucks he pays there are places to be found without annoyances like him. ( profanity, not sundin :Spin: )
I personally don't know Niklas, but I'm guessing he has a life, unlike us forum dwellers. :D

i think we're happy with the community we've built here as of now. it serves the purpose of providing a comfortable home and offering a chance for more intellectual discussions every once in a while. i'll probably promote new projects and band-related stuff as soon as i can stop contemplating the wrong end of a gun for longer than 15 days.
First, i would say "mere adequate" not comfortable. But thats just me. Second of all, technically, as low as the number is, this is quite an unstable an unreliable sever. Shure it works nice enough but it has the average ( or perhaps a bit above average ) of a free or sponsored forum, not what a band should expect if they knew better ( read: if offered a better option ).

So far the only thing it has going for it is the comunity aspect and some reliability, i guess its allright but lets not go out of our way to say its "amazing" or "extremely reasonable"

Yes but wouldnt you like to have a forum for your band that is reliable and a reasonable experience? It is reasonable here, for a free forum, but since it stopped being so, it just barely is reasonable.

@mis: maybe you're right that it's not comfortable, as it seems everyone's leaving. i guess i just don't know anymore. still i figure a new board somewhere else would probably take a long time before it attracts a basis of regulars. and re-building the promised land never really worked. we're open to suggestion, though.

Could just do a forum ban along the lines of Mattias and U[Sic]M if he continues to be a problem. I figure that until we find a new home, or the band lets it be known that they want the forum moved, we stay here and continue as we were.
I definitely don't want it to go the same way as the In Flames board, but (permitting my arrogance) I can't help that Dark Tranquillity appeals to a more selective clientele. ;)

I would like to have my band's forum here on UM (if I have a band). It's reasonable for me and probably other bands here would agree. Except a few like In Flames. ;)

i'm not inclined to ban profanity from the board, the reason being one of consciousness of the annoyance.
mattias and u[sic]m where posting shit, repeatedly and purposefully because i told them off and asked them to stop. their intention was to create trouble.
if i choose to believe that profanity has suffered brain damage, i'm not sure he is perfectly aware of the consequences of his actions. in the off-chance that this might be true, i still protect the board from abuse but i don't punish him unnecessarily for something he might not be aware of committing.

I don't know, on one or two ocassions he's said something which makes me think he's created an elaborate con, if that's true, I can't help but be amused. Someone who regularly posts such idiocy, but has said something so incredibly sly and witty that I was in stitches probably has a fairly good idea what's going on. But I will as ever bow to you, my esteemed moderator (while I sharpen my mutiny knives mwah ha ha ha) :Smokedev:

indeed i know he might be a fake. sometimes i do have the feeling he's a bit over the line, sort of overacting a role. but i can't be sure, so i give him the benefit of doubt.

We need to blow up the entire country of England to get rid of Profånity.

Who's with me?

I regularly delete his "interesting thread" "this thread is spam" "I agree completely" posts in the Chat forum.

I'm sorry he managed to find his way here :erk:

You delete his posts?!?

I totally worship you. :worship:

*worships Rahvin also*

I would do that also, if there weren't so many other idiot posts just like his. :erk: Seriously, I think that's why I fear deleting anything, because I'd ultimately delete everything. (Though actually I do delete quite a bit, but no one notices...because it's deleted. :p)
