Tool

April 28 sounds about accurate for a release date. I had originally heard it would be out some time in May.

How long do you guys think it'll be before it leaks? Just curious.

Seeing as April 28th is a Friday, I doubt it. The release date has unofficially been confirmed as May. Blair, the writer for the band's website, has said May several times. This makes sense, since they are playing Coachella at the end of April. They ususally like to play in a big setting like that before an album's release.

As far as a leak is concerned, I wouldn't be so sure. Evryone knows how secretive they are. Obviously, a single should be surfacing rather soon, however.

Putting the words 'hype' and 'Tool' together doesnt really work.
Whatever it is it will be worth listening to.

Uh....I'm sorry dude, but what the fuck are you talking about? Do you know how many people are looking forward to this album? The fans have got incredibly high expectations - Lateralus was such a good album, and now they have to top that. It's gonna take a fucking amazing record to do that.

Calling it hype is just wrong. Obviously their enormous fan base is expecting something amazing but its not hype.
Dont get me wrong, Im a huge Tool fan and I just dont see how they could 'fuck it up'.
Whatever it is it will be expanding or developing their sound and unless they come out with some ridiculously poppy shit the fanbase will enjoy it.

Hmmm, I disagree with your statement. Sure, fans are really excited about this record. Have we ever not been excited about a new Tool release? I am a HUGE Tool fan (as I'm guessing you are as well). Lateralus was a great album. So was Ænima, so was Undertow, and so was Opiate. The albums have really been completely different to me. The first two were produced by Sylvia Massey, the next two by David Bottrill, and the new one was produced by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, The Melvins, Weezer). Obviously, the producer plays a big part in their 'sound'. That is pretty clear looking at the sonic differences between Undertow and Ænima. What I am getting at is that, they have not necessarily "topped" any album. Their sound has progressed, and their skills have progressed as well. If the band did not think they could produce a "better" album, there would be no reason for their existence as a band anymore. I guarantee, this album will be their most advanced, most interesting, and most intricate album to date.;)

Absolutely, man. Its about a progression of sound that the fanbase are going to appreciate. Its exactly the same with an Opeth release. I enjoyed Ghost Reveries immensely and I think the development of their sound is amazing and interesting.

I agree with this, but I'm afraid that their sound won't progress. Lateralus sounded like a really comfortable sound for the band to me, and I'm afraid this one won't be too different. I guess there's no real basis for this, so we'll see.

I doubt it. Unless Ozzfest has European dates. They'll be in Europe all summer.

Because he's a douche and needs some attention.;) He's French Canadian for fuck's sake.
I'm not french canadian, I'm english canadian, you ignorant racist.

BTW, fuck off.
PS, fuck off.

French, nor Canadian, is a race dude.;)

ig·no·rant (adj)
1. lacking knowledge and education in general or in a specific subject
2. unaware of something
3. caused by a lack of understanding or experience

Now who's ignorant?

Furthermore, since you posted "TOOL SUCKS" earlier, that automatically tells me that you lack knowledge and education in music.;)

First of all, Tool is my 2nd favorite band. So fuck off.

Second of all, if you can dismiss my sarcasm or "stupidity" just by relating it to the area in which I live, you're a dumbass. Fuck off.

Third of all, you're a loser, get a life and most importantly fuck off.

Well, even though you actually like Tool, I wasn't kidding. I can't stand them. My opinion stays.

Carry on.

Ok, I probably shouldn't even acknowledge your reply by submitting my own, but I better clear some things up. First of all, writing "TOOL SUCKS" in a Tool thread does not imply sarcasm. If I had known your waste-of-space statement was sarcasm, I would have simply told you that your joke was not funny and that you're a douche. Secondly, I wasn't "dismissing" anything. I was just telling you that you're a wanker. In fact, I've rather enjoyed the time I have spent in Montréal, regardless of how annoying some of its citizens may be. Lastly, you are the one who spends time writing a sarcastic "TOOL SUCKS" for no apparent reason. Who needs to get a life?

I got your "fuck off" by the way, but I'm sure that this post will entertain another one, or three.

Cheers.

Well frankly I am stoked. I think Lateralus was the single greatest album ever made in the history of history. I don't see them topping it and frankly, I hope they don't try! Undertow was different from Opiate was different from Aenima was different from Lateralus, but it's all unmistakably Tool. These guys are consummate musicians, complete geniuses, and whatever they do, it will be gold. I am not worried in any way that it will not live up to my expectations, because it's Tool and I have learned with them, not to expect anything but rather to see their music as a gift, and simply to ride it like a wave and experience what they have to share with me. Expand my consciousness and all that.

I know I sound like a fucking hippie, but I don't care. Tool makes me feel pretty.

Wow, you've been to Montreal? I take back everything.

For a guy who likes spending time in Montreal, you have a rather uncalled for, shitty attitude towards the people who live there.

I'm confused, do think it was sarcastic or not?

Fuck off.

 Same here, although I like Lateralus more than Aenima more than Undertow, so I'm really hoping that the next one will top off Lateralus to keep with that progression.

But as you said, how could it be better than Lateralus?
