NEWS FROM BLABBERMOUTH

According to both Tower Records Japan and HMV Japan, the new TOOL album is scheduled for release in Japan on May 10. However, the band and their label have yet to confirm this information or announce a release date for any of the other territories.

Even though the members of TOOL have already begun giving press interviews to promote the new CD, no official album title or track listing has yet been announced. Recent Internet rumors have suggested that TOOL's first CD since 2001's "Lateralus" will be named "Aldaraia" and a target U.S. release date of May 2 was given for the effort, but these reports have yet to be corroborated by an official source.

TOOL's brand-new album was mastered on January 31 at Gateway Mastering Studios in Portland, Maine by Bob Ludwig. The members of the band were present during the mastering, according to a posting on Toolband.com.

This is a article from Andy King of TotalRock.com about the listening party.... if you are a TOOL fan, than you are about to read something special.
Had been posted already.

As I recall, Tool has a history of leaking false information about their album's release date and name and all track names, and furthermore it's common knowledge that they do not actually name their album or the tracks until just prior to release. I would not trust this information, although I do hope it is at least somewhat accurate.

Yeah, those track names seem overly philosophical to me; almost tongue-in-cheek. I wouldn't be surprised if they were a joke. We'll all know the track names come May. ;)

Well, don´t ask me, here we go:

in english, although "news" is technically plural, it functions as a singular noun

Been waiting forever it seems for some new TOOL. And I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Best show I ever saw was them at the Riviera in Chicago when they released Lateralus............. I still get chills just thinking about it! All hail Maynard! :worship:

//Czech Republic, GREAT!!!

Wow. Now news from Blair, that I believe. There are some really small venues in there. Why couldn't I have studied abroad THIS summer instead of last. Fuck! You bastards over there have some good times ahead. ;)

That paper states that the new Tool album will be self-titled. However, Blabbermouth and ShoutWeb report that the album will be called Aldaraia, and the track listings are totally different. Furthermore, judging from the listener-party review, I would expect Track 5 to be the single, rather than Track 4.

Something does not fly here!

Blabbermouth and Shoutweb are basing their statements on nothing but rumour. And the listening review guy didnt know when tracks were ending and beginning. Blair on toolband.com said that the third track called LK was an epic track, which means that track four could easily be the single. Also, album titles and track names aren't important at this point, considering tool has put out fake names in the past. What is important is that all legit signs point towards May 2nd as the release date, and that press will release information on April 13th.
