Okay. So this isn't a top 10 album list, right? The first real heavy thing I really liked was Venom, in 1984; At War With Satan. When was Slayer's Haunting The Chapel released again? That was faster than anything I ever heard before. When Bonded By Blood was released, Exodus became my favorite band. And what about S.O.D.?! When I heard them first, I couldn't believe that a band could be so heavy and fast and funny at the same time. Because of S.O.D. I got interested in Anthrax. My first (and favorite) Anthrax album is Among The Living. 1986 was the year I got interested in Metallica; Master of Puppets. Same year Slayer's Reign In Blood was released! In 1987 I heard Death for the first time: Scream Bloody Gore. (Is this 10 already? Let's see...)

01. Venom - At war with Satan
02. Slayer - Haunting the Chapel (E.P.)
03. Exodus - Bonded by Blood
04. S.O.D. - Speak English or Die
05. Anthrax - Among the Living
06. Metallica - Master of Puppets
07. Slayer - Reign in Blood
08. Death - Scream Bloody Gore
09. Testament - The Legacy
10. Kreator - Terrible Certainty

I think a lot of these albums made me what I am today. I still like the music that was released in the (2nd half of) the 80's the most!

In order, more or less:
-Metallica's ReLoad taught me that there was such a thing as heavy metal.
-Metallica's Kill 'Em All taught me that heavy metal was WAY more than everyone said it was, and it was fucking glorious.
-Metallica's Garage Inc. taught me that there were bands out there like Black Sabbath and Mercyful Fate who were complete evil bastards.
-Mercyful Fate's Melissa taught me that Satan is a good thing.
-Judas Priest's '98 Live Meltdown taught me that Judas Fucking Priest absolutely owns my soul.
-Iced Earth's Days of Purgatory taught me that there's a nice big metal underground out there, and it must be appreciated.
-Overkill's Wrecking Everything - Live taught me that thrash metal was the way to go.
-Judas Priest's Stained Class (upon rediscovery) taught me where the roots of the metal I love the most really was.
-Ulysses Siren's Above the Ashes taught me that I have a mission in life, and that mission is to pimp Ulysses Siren everywhere I go (GO LISTEN TO ULYSSES SIREN, DAMNIT!)
-And most recently, Virgin Steele's Invictus taught me that cheese and glory in metal is not necessarily a bad thing...and that I AM POWER!

OK here is basically the list of essential albums that made me worship heavy metal thunder:

Metallica: Master Of Puppets
King Diamond: THEM
Anthrax: Spreading The Disease
Ozzy Osbourne: The Ultimate Sin (I got to listen to these four albums when I was ten)
Metallica 91
Anthrax: Sound Of White Noise
Slayer: Seasons In The Abyss
Megadeth: Countdown To Extinction
Mercyful Fate: Don´t Break The Oath
Paradise Lost: Icon
Fear Factory: Demanufacture
Pantera: Vulgar Display Of Power
S.O.D.: Speak English Or Die

and the list goes on and on
