According to you. I like "burn my eyes", "the more things change", "through the ashes of empires" and "the blackening". I think "the burning red" got a tad to much negative critique. NOthing really good but some good stuff like "five".

Try Paths of Possession, Einsiferum, Kreator, and Sodom for starters. We'll work towards more obscure stuff.

ya, i understand the general feeling there, its more of a guilty pleasure, but i also play bass and i really like his style (kinda claypoolesqe, but heavier). also if you didnt pick up on it i really like music with funky timing which mudvayne also does (again their first album was best). ill try out those bands you mentioned, but listen to internal primates forever, im sure its on youtube, maybe you will like it the second time around, if not i geuss i cant give you your 4 minutes back, w/e.

I usually have a hard time ranking stuff but this is what I've been most into the last year or so (continuosly changing though). NOt in any particular order (cause I just cant compare bands like that):

* Megadeth - my all time favs. Theres just something about their stuff...
* Machine Head - rediscovered this excellent band with "the blackening".
* Anaal Nathrakh - the best new extreme band in ages!
* Morbid Angel - Always delivers the goods.
* Akercocke - nice mix of death and progressive. Some awesome stuff.
* Nevermore - I wish more band had a approach like nevermore. Crushing muic and clean vocals.
* Nile - Awesome death metal and I love the egyptian theme.
* Mastodon - Wicked drumming is what makes this really stand out.
* The Haunted - I like their new direction. The thrash stuff started to become somewhat genereic after a while.
* Guns n' Roses - May not be metal but it's "my band" and has been since I started listenng to other music than childrens songs.

Apart from Guns n' Roses that's a good list in my opinion!
