Take a moment to check out KNAC's Writers & DJ's Top 10 Lists. Evergrey is listed and some other favorites. KNAC.COM - The Loudest Dot Com on the Planet!. (I do not work for KNAC just saw the Top 10 and know that we like lists)
I like the album, but I don't unabashedly love it like, say, "Unleashed Memories." They've mainstreamed their sound with more success than, say Children of Bodom's attempt, but still - wish they had gone in a different direction.
Still some of the friendliest people I've ever met, though. Andrea

Loved Unleashed Memories. Loved Comalies. Loved their older EPs as well. Up until now, they've only had a few songs I skip over. I still have a hard time listening all the way through karmacode. After loving all their previous material, I was just really dissapointe with the album.
And yeah, they are really cool people. They're actually good friends with a girl I went to college with. Andrea hung out with her until about 45 minutes before their set the last time I saw them. Funny enough there was barely anyone in the crowd who noticed him sitting at a table for 2 hours and they were the headliner that night.

Everyone seems to overlook him because of Cristina...and as a guy, I can totally understand that to a degree (plus, she was genuinely cool when I met her). But I've met Andrea a couple of times - one time, he hung out with me, Pellaz and another buddy of mine for a couple of hours talking about comic books and monster movies. Plus, he's friends with a buddy of mine who is in a goth band called The Last Dance - if you have any tolerance for gothic rock, check out The Last Dance, pronto.
"Karmacode" is a grower if you give it a chance. I'm not claiming that its among their best work, and I think parts of it are too slick for its own good. "Our Truth" sounds like a song that was never developed (like, it's missing the hook). Also, "Enjoy the Silence" may be my favorite Depeche Mode song, but I wish they had gone for a different cover tune. But there are a couple of tunes I really do like, like "Closer," "The Game," and "Without Fear." But it's just my two cents.
I disagree, and I personally overrated AMOLAD when it first came out, due to my loyalty to that band, but it is still a very strong release - easily the best thing they've done since "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son." Great to see those guys back on track, having outlasted all odious trends to come out victorious!
