Just 1 Manowar - Gods of War ... cmon guys what the fuck 5 songs and 15 interludes?!? just plain disapointing!

S:X - Paradise Lost is clearly my #1 and I haven't even thought about putting together a top 10...maybe at a later date.

5.) Shooter Jennings – The Wolf

Hey Sixx, I was gonna ask what you thought about Shooter's new one, knowing you're a fan. I'm kinda disappointed in it. I thought he improved over his first one with 'Electric Rodeo', but I'm kinda blah one the new one. Where would you rank it relation to his other two studio albums.

Hmm... I think the debut album smokes Rodeo and The Wolf, that said I like The Wolf quite a bit more than the last one. I'd rank The Wolf second in terms of essential Shooter Jennings...I too thought it was kind of vanilla at first but the more I listen the more I like it. I mean when I saw he had the Oak Ridge Boys on a track I was like what the fuck?! Now I think it's one of the standouts on that album! Anyway that's what I think...

Cool...maybe it'll be a grower for me. Not that I think it's a bad album just expected to like it more.

So the final topten stays like this, I had some trouble with the shuffle after 10-15 and 16 and below, many factors came to take the decision including number of "bad tracks" in the album, production, expectations from the band, memorable songs, amount of material on the year, time for reviewing, etc. Actually it "wore" me out, I don't know if I'm going to make one in 2008.

Hawk, love the new av! Where's Machine Head on yours?!?! :):)

Thanks buddy. :) Well the Machine Head album is great I just thought there were a couple of other even better albums.

Btw has anyone noticed how many modern metal bands with an old school feeling are populating our lists?

This forum is about a more than 80s nostalgia. And I for one am very happy about that. :headbang:

Well to me the forum was never "only" nostalgia is about old school vibe and old school can also be found in new bands.

I'm honored buddy! :headbang:

Your album should have being way higher but I make a "penalty" because two songs were from the EP and I penalized other albums that I'm not listen in its enterity, so I had to be consistent with my judging. Actually that got me a bit unconfortable with making top lists, I will probably not make one this year.

1. Gene Simmons - I actually really like the guy but sometimes his behavior is just ridiculous.

1. Phantom X - Storm Riders (Thanx Wyv!)

You're welcome! Phantom-X and Omen are among the best discoveries I made in 2007 even if nothing of the material is from that year.

I guess the biggest dissapointments for me are Sebastian Bach that with a mighty producer and an excellent line-up failed to made a gelified album, also Hirax that wasted two CDs to make a couple of singles that could have perfectly fit in only one CD as an EP (both released with a few months difference).
