I agree completely. I'm not really a big Dream Theater fan. I own one other album, but I never listen to it. Images and Words is the most interesting and complex at the same time.

You should like, buy more albums and listen to them more. What's the other album you own?

First off, wtf @ Ghost Reveries? GR is probably their weakeast album to date, aside from Deliverance (minus the songs Wreath, Deliverance, A Fair Judgment). It really only has 3 excellent songs, which are the first 3. Everything else is extremely weak. Even the softer songs annoy me after a few listens. And Harlequin Forest is on par with Masters Apprentices, meaning it was cool the first few listens but after a while I realized it was just really boring and didn't show me much. Then of course there's The Grand Conjuration, Opeth's worst song.

Secondly, I can understand most people enjoying Blackwater Park the most, it's arguably their easiest listen in terms of catchiness and whatnot. I just think MAYH and specifically Still Life is so much better. As far as playability goes at least. What do you guys think?

This thread has been good for prog recs basically. I need to get into more prog metal.

oh yeah, I also have a modest collection of prog rock, such as Yes, King Crimson, etc, so I definitely haven't been sticking to metal

Yes, it is a great album. Tied with Octavarium for my favourite DT album ever. Home is a great song too.

Oh yes!! The Art of... is fantastic!! But metal prog fans are usually disappointed because it's not really metal... It reminds me sometimes of the first Enchant's album!! Really great bass and drums job!!
