If my house would burn down and I'd be able to save 10 albums, those albums would be stuff that would offer the most widespread and interesting listening.

1. David Bowie: 1. Outside (Must be the greatest album ever
made in the existence of human history)
2. System of a Down: Toxicity (I'm addicted to this. Also very interesting and I believe very long-lasting album)
3. Ismo Alanko: Pulu (Alanko's greatest album to date)
4. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds: No More Shall We Part (This is just so gloomy...)
5. Devin Townsend: Terria (I wouldn't survive without Devin Townsend)
6. Strapping Young Lad: City (...Or without City)
7. Type O Negative: October Rust (As well, I wouldn't survive the next winter without this album)
8. In The Nursery: Man with a Movie Camera (Might be one of the best albums I have, completely beautiful background-ambient)
9. David Bowie: Hunky Dory (Bowie is god..)
10. My cd-case, which I carry with me everywhere I go, with 300 hours of mp3-music ;)

1: Parliament: “Mothership Connection”
2: Type O Negative: “October Rust”
3: The Isley Brothers: “Live it up”
4: Type O Negative: “Bloody Kisses”
5: “Music from the television series The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.”
6: Guns N’ Roses: “Appetite for destruction”
7: Opeth: “Blackwater park”
8: Marvin Gaye: “What’s going on”
9: Type O Negative: “World coming down”
10: Dead Can Dance: “Spiritchaser”
11: Bootsy’s Rubberband: “Ahh...The name’s Bootsy, baby”
12: Kool & The Gang: “Love & Understanding”
13: Burzum: “Hvis lyset tar oss”
14: Satyricon: “The Shadowthrone”
15: Satyricon: “Nemesis Divina”
16: Machine Head: “Burn my eyes”
17: Hedningarna: “Trä”
18: Kraftwerk: “The man machine”
19: Iron Maiden: “The Number of the beast”
20: Minnie Riperton: “Adventures in Paradise”

I would take those as they are the 20 best records I have! But then again, I might be able to get some of them easily again, so I might not take them after all. "Rust" & "Bloody" by Type O I would definetly take, as they would be hard to get, but I wouldn't take "World.." as it's a cd. I wouldn't take the Hedningarna either, as it's a cd as well, and so is the two Satyricon albums. The GN'R record is easy to find at a normal secondhand store price, so I wouldn't probably take that either. I think I would take my Lee Hazlewood collection, as he's my favorite artist and only 3 of the 21 records I have by him AREN'T signed. It would be hard to get copies of all the records again and then get them signed. I would maybe also take some of my John Barry records. He's my favorite artist after Lee, but his records aren't that rare, at least not the ones that I have, except for "Robin & Marian", which I payed $30 for and "Lolita, my love", which I got yesterday and I paid $32 for that (a sealed copy). A record like Lyn Collins' "Think (about it)" is also one of the more valuables that I got, so I might take that one. Also Jeff Buckley's "Grace" (180 gm.) & "Sketches". I've only listened to them once and I will probably never listen to them again, but they're worth some good cash! It's hard to say, as they stuff I have aren't necessarily that valuable - only to me, cause I like the music. If I was just to pick my 20 favorite records I would be the list I listed, but if my house was on fire it would be another thing, as it's all about economy then and the more the record is worth, the harder it is to get, especially when you're a cheap-ass like me! I would definetly take my list of my records. I write my records & cd's down and if my house burned down I could always write some valuable records down and get money for them!
