Top 3 musicians

I can't believe the three greatest have been missed....

1)Simen Hestnaes-Bassist, Ungodly vocalist, guitarist, and pianist (and maybe more...). And the songs he has writeen are among the best in existence.

2) Garm-Ulver. Arcturus. Need I say more????

3)Vintersorg- This man creates some goddamn unbelievable tunes and is severely underrated in my opinion.........

And there it is.......

It's hard to pick a favorite musician, because it's the chemistry between all members of a band that makes good music...

...sorta. In a lot of bands, one or two people do most of the writing.

Anyway, Mikael (from Opeth), Andre Olbrich (from Blind Guardian), and Dave Mustaine (Metallica/Megadeth) are three people I've really been inspired by.

Mustaine not so much anymore though, but I thougth Hetfield, Ulrich, Burton, and Mustaine together was a great lineup. The one song that credits all four of them: Call of Ktulu

oh,this is really hard......

hmmmmmm
Mikael Åkerfeldt
Dan Swanö
Chris Rygg (aka Garm)
Anders Björler
and Mikael Stanne

oh,and Martin Walkyier for his great lyrics

ok im just gonna put what members i think would make the ultimate band:

Guitar and growling vocals: Mikael Akerfeldt
Clean Vocals: Hansi Kursch (from blind guardian his harmonies are stunning)
Lead Guitar: John Petrucci (my favorite guitarist of all time)
Bass: Jeff Berlin (not too popular but this guy is amazing)
Keyboards: Mike Oldfield (He plays every instrumnet ever probably
:) but for this I choose the keys for him)
Drums: Mike Portnoy (drummer to dream theater everything you can imagine on drums he does)

Rriiight,

Clean Vocals - Garm, Trickster G., Disguised Master, whatever name he uses. (Arcturus, Borknagar, Ulver)
Growling - Mikael Stanne (of Dark Tranquillity)
Drums - Dave Weckl (this guy is crazy :p)
Guitar - Mikael Åkerfeldt for his composition skills. There are heaps of technically better and faster guitarists, I'm sure, but speed has nothing to do with actually being able to play the guitar. You know what I mean, don't you?

Ritchie Blackmore - the guy have written so many classical songs :)
Martinho Da Vila - king of samba in Brazil
Charlie Parker - because he had impact of a complete Jazzworld
Steve Harris / M. Åkerfeldt for their composition skills :)

Actually, I'm kinda curious as to what it sounds like. Looks...intriguing. :)

hehehe :)
well...woudln´t that be "Blackmore's Tight´s" ?? :D
I dont know what happened to him...though I hope it doesn´t happen
with the Opeth fellows hahaha :)
I was reffering to Ritchies side Projects he had before this band, like deep
purple or Rainbow and stuff...:)

Mikael Akerfeldt, Mike Patton, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Kristin Hersh, Ravi Shankar, Leo Kottke

Jordan Rudess (keyboard god)
Yngwie Malmsteen (guitar god)
Michael Kiske (vocal god)

If I had to pick one, I'd say Rudess, he's the most incredible musician I have ever seen.

Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Mikael Akerfeldt, Michael Romeo, (Mozart, Bach; can we count true musical geniuses here :)) Devin Townsend....ummm, I better stop I could go on forever.

Well this is a hell of a question...i'm gonna have to make this top 5....and in no particular order, they are

1.) Mikael and Peter
2.) John Petrucci
3.) Simen of Dimmu, Arcturus, etc. (he has such a KILLER voice)
4.) Jeff Loomis
5.) Chuck Schuldiner

And there ya go...
