Top 3 NWOBHM releases

Heh, judging NWOBHM era Def Leppard by Hysteria or Slang...

That's like judging Europe by The Final Countdown, or Anathema with OK Computer. :loco:

In reference to the first post (the official list):

"You're an Angel Witch, YOU'RE an Angel Witch".

"This is the age of Satan".

How many people here have actually heard Angel Witch and/or Pagan Altar by now (especially considering most of you download)? If I'm right, I don't think there's anyone here that's actually heard them and hasn't fallen in love with them in the gay way. That's quite remarkable.

Metal's been around for almost 37 years, sonny.

And speak up willya, us old-timers can't hear you so good.

i know its been around for ages, the thing is, you don't always put 2 and 2 together and realize that means that people that listened to it back in the day, were teenagers/20s then and now are getting older.

metallica - ride the lightning
metallica - master of puppets
metallica - kill 'em all

sue me.

*smooch*

ummmm, though seriously, i'm not a big fan of NWOBHM. i like a lot of stuff that it directly influenced, like metallica, slough feg, etc. but the only real tr00 NWOBHM album i enjoy is Powerslave.

see to me, Pagan Altar is like Black Sabbath v.2 (no, that's NOT meant as derogatory, just they are the next evolutionary step in Things Sabbath).

well, whatever the fuck they are, they are :kickass: and that's all there is to it.

NAD man, you absolutely have to have to have to have to hear the new Witchcraft. Look man, it's like Sabbath jamming with The Doors. Or rather, it's Iommi playing rhythm while Krieger and Manzarek just toodle all over the place. And the singer, while sounding like a warped Jim Morrison, sings with the exact same intonations as Ozzy.

And the lyrics are beyond unruly.

From "Wooden Cross":

"I cannot wake the living dead, since they are already alive". :tickled: :kickass:
