I just got some tubes from Dougs Tubes. He was awesome, they arrived next day which was crazy.

But: I much prefer my old Sovtek 6l6's.

I suppose I should have asked him for ones suited for high gain because these are stiff as a board and have no gain at all. Ah well.

I did a clip. I had to boost it. It records better than it sounds in person. So: $80 lesson learned! Wish I had gone with the EL34's now.

Sounds good, but I like the sound of your Stiletto alot more. If you are looking for more gain out of it, why not concentrate on getting gainier preamp tubes?

I think I will use both on my album so it won't sound as samey. I am done with tubes...lol..I have spent more time swapping than playing! I may try some JJ's in the pre on the recto.

So true. I put Kt77's in my stiletto duece too. So now I have 2 high gaain marshall amps: Only with great cleans. Tidy.
