I have been trying to learn how to do two hand tapping on my basss, and I have been coming up short time and time again.

Now, the kind of tapping I have in mind can be seen in this video I found on youtube. (This kid is a godly bassist by the way):kickass:

Anybody that can help I would really appreciate it!

i'm learning how to do it as well. it just takes practice, and a knowledge of chords.

are you having any specific problems?

the mainn problem I am having is making the notes even ring to be honest, I know it sounds pathetic, but I go to tap and the higher notes are heard, but my left hand can't tap the lower notes hard enough. I tried EQ, thinking that was the problem, but that only changed it a little bit..

perhaps youre just not tapping in the right spot. tap directly over the fret. also, if you want it to ring, you gotta keep for finger on the fretboard.

now that ive covered the obvious stuff, perhaps there is another problem. but try that first

yea, I knew that, I can tap with my right hand easily(I am right handed), it is my left hand I have the problem with making the notes pronounced. Tapping both hands at once. Not in intervals of eachother.

Surely it should be no problem if you are capable of doing hammer ons?

sounds like you just need to practice. on that first note, remember to press down really hard.

good luck

these dont really have basic how to tap lessons. mostly how to improve your style. for getting a clear tone, just practice.

did any of those help?

Thank you soo much!
I had looked all over youtube, and have seen the other two before, but never that one, which is exactly what I was looking for.
So thank you again soo much!
