Well, Slipknot isn't like totally ghey... I mean, they have some good tracks, it's just their music is sorta has that attitude that is oriented towards a younger audience, and they're pretty mainstream. But I have no real beef with them. Most kids from my generation used them as a stepping stone into metal, I don't care who you are.

For me it's the contrary, one of the 1st metal cd's i heard was "Slipknot - Slipknot" i listened to it a lot and eventualy got into heavier stuff...

Even thought i don't listen to slipknot anymore, I can't say i hate them , i'l still listen to some of their songs a few times a year.

my whole thing with them is that people think there totally metal and goth if they listen to slipknot and the like....i mean slipknot is not even that heavy, i know a lot of us hear listen to DM and BM etc. but still, they are not heavy.

Even though the lyrics are kinda emo, its one of only two songs I like by them.

They have a shitload of good songs IMO, I just listen to a lot more bands than I did when I was 14 that are heavier and play better music.

But people after refer to them as metal, and they are what most people listen to before going on to heavier stuff. I havent listened to any of those bands, i just listened to classical rock before, but some slipknot songs are good.
