Sorry once again dudes. Believe me it pisses me off too! I am trying to surf the same forum as you. I had thought it was a DO attack as I have a Dos program running that was going nuts. It still may be but have been trying to hunt down the target program / site. (I run a few sites on here). It isn't hardware as we run a dual Xeon 2.4 2x73 GB SCSI, gig ram etc. This server screamed the first few months we were rolling on here. Tomorrow I am probably going to take the forum offline a couple hours to: upgrade MySQL (database software) (version I am using has a couple bugs as I have found out), upgrade the forum software since there's a new version that has "speed enhancements" and also a couple other things.

Until then...back to my head banging... head banging against the wall that is!

The old UM server Mark had wasn't tweaked out to handle the forum software as much as it could have been. When we got it on the new server back in April this place was screaming for a good 3 months then, to be honest, I am not sure what happened. It's been awesome on and off. Software always gets updated or patched due to hackers/security holes and it's a bear trying to figure how fixing "a" makes "b" slower etc. You have to continuously tweak out config files and such. Pain in the ass but what can ya do. Hopefully once everything gets tweaked this week things will be back to normal (good normal).
