Unblack Metal

But perhaps with it's lovely history of pursecution, inquisition, genocide, anti-semitism, hostile tactics and strict application of silly rules, something as terrible as this "unblack" metal is a suitable method to describe such a wretched religion.

I've heard:

Crimson Moonlight
Horde
Antestor
Frost Like Ashes
Holy Blood
Evrodlkin (Or whatever)
Slechtvalk
A few others...

It's still all a giant shitstorm. For every band I heard I've heard three better actual black metal bands.
go put on your suite and be his bitch like usual.

:lol::lol: I love how mad you get, it makes my day everytime.

I couldn't really care less what it gets called. I can can even recognize that some of it may be good musically. But I won't fucking listen to it.

I'm an atheist, a Secular Humanist, and downright militant anti-theist. I'm philosophically opposed to Christian ideology. I find it an abhorrent plight on our society.

I can not under good conscience support any "Christian band"* by listening to it, let alone buying their albums, going to their shows, or promoting them on a forum.

*By "Christian band" I mean a band with an explicit agenda of promoting Christianity, as opposed to a band consisting of Christians making secular music(which I find acceptable)

And if you took my post and changed Christian with National Socialist or some other idea I opposed it would be just as true. My point being that music isn't just music if it is promoting ideas I'm in opposition to.

i could care less what the lyrics, etc. are about. most metal lyrics are laughable anyway so who cares? i just picked up the first living sacrifice album and its great... total slayer worship but still lots of fun

I concur with everyone who has said "lyrics don't matter".

seriously... as retarded as the idea of christian metal is, satanic or NSBM or gore lyrics or whatever are pretty darn stupid too... not going to stop me from enjoying it though

post of the day. 100% agreement

living sacrifice :kickass:

I find christian lyrics just as silly as satanic lyrics, that when I actually pay attention to them. Music is the most important thing to me

Sorry to bring this back up (but not that sorry).

I am just amazed at the amount of unblack bands popping up all over. I mean it's like a whole rebirth (pun intended) of the original black metal scene or something. Were talkin' heavy duty corpse paint and everything. And now a lot of the bands seem to really be embracing the title unblack. I think in a way that is cool. Kinda like they have a level of respect for black metal and what that scene feels it stands for (like the originator of the term unblack/usvart), so they choose to use the new label.

I bet some talent will arise from it. I have mixed feelings, but whatever. They can do whatever they want.

To explore that world, just go to this (or any) unblack band myspace and follow the friends.

Now I have nothing really against christians promoting through their music. If us black-metallers can promote anti-christianity then what gives christians any less right to make arguements back. All for free-speach I am. But really, why would christians want to emulate a sound that has been exclusively dealing with antichristianity, antilife, and pretty much everything opposite of what christianity stands for. Even though it's just an aesthetic, the aesthetic has become almost dependent on the lyrical concepts. It makes very little sense to me.

They might want to emulate the sound because they like it?
Just because it's roots and most of the lyrics dealt with hate against them, doesn't mean they have never liked the sound of it...and not all black metal bands are anti christian...I'm not talking about christian black metal either. There are a few black metal bands that had lyrics about regular stuff and those christians liked the sound so they decided to make a christian black metal band.

Here's my thing, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS UNBLACK OR WHITE METAL. it's all black metal! Black metal elitists...GET OVER IT. :Smug:

Yes Black metal's typical lyrics are anti christians...but black metal also has a different sound apart from death, thrash, power metal etc....so if christians decided to change the lyrics up but keep the SOUND, it's still black metal dude. <--- an opinion.

Black Metal was meant to be about War, Satanism, and Ant-Christianity in the early 90s, but now there are many different types of lyrical themes used in Black Metal, so it doesn't matter if Unblack Metal is also referred to as Black Metal.
