Regarding anything..

My current one is; I ordered some parts to build my own patchbay, found a used one online now, that I bought.. great..
Don't know why I didn't check for that first..
Could've saved a lot of money..
Well, I got spare parts, I guess..

Got the PT10 upgrade a week before PT11 was released and the update came free when 11 was announced. There's nothing I could do about that, but it's very annoying.

the theatrical audio/lighting school I went to back in 2008.. Cost a fuck ton just to realize working in a theatre is not for me at all. Seems I didn't even end up gaining any real contacts from those times.

I should have stuck to some other school and only learn audio from on here, like I basically have anyways.

I had more or less the same experience, with a audio technician school that I went, that cost me a arm and a leg and I only learned the basic stuff, I mean really the basic. Truth, I learned more from here, but really a lot more than the school.

Back in 1998 I bought a Fostex digital mixing board...before vsts, before usb, before you could hook shit up to a computer. That technology was dead before I got the fucker home. It used those big ass ZIP drives. Cost me a grand at the time and ended up in the trash about three years ago.

Wow.. I can't imagine the frustration..

As far as my bad investments, I spent $200 on supplies to refinish my old Jackson Dinky. I fucked it up multiple times and eventually just gave up.

Next time I'm gonna try to avoid doing a burst finish.

This is more of an opportunity cost than anything. There's no telling how many hours I spent to accomplish nothing.

Half of the bands I've been in. The current (soon-to-be ex possibly, though) being the most expensive dabble.

Pro Tools in general has been a bad investment for me. I consider bad investments things that don't give me any return on the money (return can be monetary or enjoyment).

I have needed pro tools once in the 5 years that I have had it. People that I work with don't seem to give a fuck if I'm using it or not.

Other things:

Madison Divinity (again didn't get my money out of it, ended up on no recordings and never played it out or used it much).

Presonus tube preamps (shit that never got used)

I'm positive this list has more on it but that's all that comes to mind.

Bought a used Digi002 few years back. Thought of using ADAT, never had before. Broke it on the Digi002 when i tried to plug it in for the first time haha. Went on buying a Digi003.
Got almost all my money back though, selling it but it was just one of those "did i break it??? yeah i did.."

Probably all my tattoos, I love 'em but from an economic stand point they were probably not a good choice.

If you love em, screw it consider it a good investment. I spent 1.5g's on mine and I fuggin love em, Look better feel better especially if they mean something to you. Plus if you play live it could give you just the selfish narcissistic ego boost you need as do mine lol And if you record for profit dumb as it may be, some people might feel you don't "look" the part.
Just like when bands come to record and they see this alien tech-time box called a kemper they feel uneasy cause they don't see 5150's stacked on the walls.

Waves Gold and Waves Platinum (both used) at almost the same time with the intention to sell the Gold Version. Still have it...
